Sirdo, Under similar colory inspection stimulation - case in point is their propensity to sting when I disturb the hive.
The careful observer, however, realizes that some colonies really don't show much of a stinging response in the same apiary really do attack, and are lightly defending, How come?
When I first enter the apiary I will go upwind to observe the effects on their behavioral responses, and in quick time I will have an answer from the bees as a behavioral trait.
Some time ago I noticed that a hive that is stingy in one place can be moved to a different location and become less stingy. H.T.Y.
