Let's Take a Look at the Quansheng UV-K6

In this video, I share my interest in my new Quansheng UV-K6. I am still in the process of learning all of the features this cheap radio has to offer. I plan on sharing more about it as I learn more. I am sure there are many other videos out there that will give more in depth views on it and how-to’s.
I realize I call it a UV-K5 in the video, and it can get confusing on Amazon because they are called both. With a little research, you will quickly be able to distinguish the two. The actual uv k5 looks a lot different and has a “white” backlight and the K6 has a orange backlight.
Also note: The radios I ordered did not come with a programming cable, but the standard Baofeng cable works fine…

Hello Clay Very nice, got the same but different coming, Thingkk the UV-K5 (8). europe model I read somewhere or something like that. or You have the K6 in N America. everyone get the K5 8. Might leave it as it is or try the different firmware as you did. Leads cheap enough, had one or two back in the day. OK some years ago with the good old baofengs as you got. Then the Yaesu digital thing. July 2022, cheapest they did for Fusion. That went on Ebay the other week. Nothing left now the car and handheld went. Not had home rig. Handheld on a nice stand went into outside antenna on end of the house. Now this chinas finest transciever! on the way. Have a radio again. Why I sold the Yaesu and drone that died so not 100% working, controller had a problem, things sold. New radio from AliExpress coming and a cheap lead. Something to play with. Got a radio playlist. in UK. Radio a bit dead around here when nice and high up above town, walk away. Can see 15 miles, repeaters 10 and 13 miles in the open direction if that, nothing. I sold the lot in a temper!. Now this cheap thing on way so something on days out, holidays. Not so much at home, waste of time :(

It's definitely a radio that is inspiring new users. Lets hope enough people get them to local chatter. Also look into IJV ver 3 firmware, that can also be flashed. Also backup your radio's core calibration setting with K5prog, since it's new.

I think the stock firm ware has a battery percentage. You can find that on the menu, you can also change that to volt battery too.

*huge* apparently this particular model could TX on CB correctly, but I'm skeptical. I only found one testing it on CB and the UV-K6 output was a decent 4watts contrary to the other models?

It will tx on it if you unlock it. I don't know for sure how much power it would actually transmit. I have heard the spurs are bad when tx in 11 or 10m.
