Dude I miss naruto so so much! Every time I hear a song from naruto I just want to cry like ugh. I miss everything about naruto and I think I feel the same way as I don't want to let go of how naruto made me feel. I grew up with naruto and it's taught me so much. When I watch Boruto I just felt so lost. And everything they hit and naruto’s death so disappointed. Because I loved naruto and don't want to let it go I just find everything to hate about Baruto.

Why does honest reviews on Boruto get so low in views but the hate videos and misinformation on the series gets so high? It's so baffling sometimes that great content creators like you can properly analyze the series to this much extent to the point I actually agree with the majority of the points that you gave off. Well it's not that we want to watch naruto... Even in naruto Universe... People who were at extreme levels, you could feel the dominance in the air. For eg all the kages, akatsuki death level threat( itachi, obito, hidan and PAIN). And now what we see naruto and sasuke nerfed so bad... That it just feel not sync with the story. They could have easily avoided this, if the story would have taken place at some other village, with new characters and attach them with different personality. A small village where a group of young ninja aspiring to be like HOKAGE(naruto) and their journey how they struggle and find themselves developing. And then the interaction between such high level ninja would suit the plot. But this feels like a nepotism plot, where the hero has to be naruto son.... It took naruto and sasuke at their peak to fight off KAGUYA. And here we see this little brat fooling around.

I get how Boruto is not Naruto's story and that's cool because Naruto's story ended, but... I don't like Boruto's weak villains. I know it is ironic to call them weak since these are the strongest villains yet, especially with the whole alien things going on. When I call them weak I'm actually referring to their characters. My favourite villain is Madara Uchiha. He scared me and gave me literal chills when he dropped two massive meteors on the Shinobi Alliance. He deserved that power. He had hype, myths and legends surrounding his name, but most importantly was that he was so human and so very real. He had a real goal and purpose to serve as an antagonist. He rightfully earned that title. Then we have Isshiki. I don't like how he comes out of nowhere and folds everyone and everything that comes before without doing shid. He is strong and evil because he wants power. Seriously, wtf? THAT'S HIS GOAL?!! That is some CARTOONISHLY EVIL villain type shid. That is the kind of evil villain i would expect to find on a Saturdsy morning kids show. He has no REAL goal. Having Madara fold Naruto and Sasuke feels right, but having Isshiki do it does not sit right with me. He honestly feels like a Mary Sue. He got shoehorned in with Kaguya and made stronger than her because plot and the whole Kaguya being the Ten Tails got retconned by him existing because (again) plot. Zabuza, Haku, Pain, Obito and Madara felt so fcking right as villains. It was believable. The raw emotions and deep themes imbued within these characters is what I miss from Naruto villains. Even Orochimaru had a well developed and thought out reasoning behind him being a villain. Isshiki just doesn't sit right with me. I'm sorry but I just feel really insulted by Boruto, especially after giving my time to watch 720 episodes worth of Naruto content. I watched 720 episodes because I love Naruto. I'm a huge fan and Isshiki disrespects me as a fan.

I’ve been watching Boruto for the past month and have been really enjoying the manga canon episodes. It’s really a story worthy of the Naruto title. So I was excited to see you have a video describing your thoughts on the show. Great vid. And I know you’ve moved on to new endeavours, but I’m still crossing my fingers that we’ll get a Great Shinobi 4th War breakdown followed by a Boruto: Naruto the Next Generation video. Wouldn’t that be amazing. The sad thing is you have some of the best Naruto videos on KZbin which are highly underviewed. You should easily have 1mill views on each of your 2 Naruto breakdown videos. You’ve obviously put in the work and they’re that good. Just goes to show quality isn’t always recognized by the algorithm. It’s pretty lame. It must be pretty discouraging to put so much effort into to something and not get the recognition. Just know that those of us who watched those vids know how good they are.

One of the big drawing points, mostly for Boruto's anime, is that return to simplicity. There was an appeal in getting to see the day-to-day life of the children of the leaf after spending literal irl years in the war arc that was the Naruto finale. it's just comfy at parts. The Boruto manga is great don't get me wrong but I actually enjoyed the arcs of the anime many refer to as filler

I would agree if the 'filler' episodes in question actually formed a coherent narrative of its own instead of just being isolated incidents. Even if it's just as simple as "hey kids, thanks for rescuing my cat the other day" (referencing the previous episode without it being because its an arc). A bit like what canon Bleach did with it's filler Bount Arc. I liked episodes where Sarada researched the sharingan and some information was confidential, or when Boruto found out about Jiraiya because it actually connected to something we knew and showed us "hey, this is how [insert topic or person] interacts with this world a few years on". My problem arises when episodes just focus on "stop bandit" "Seal hairpin memory demon" "help to cage wild birds" "find mad scientist" without actually bothering to link the episode topic to anything related to things we have been introduced to before or, heck, even just to other 'filler arcs'. If you stage a filler arc in the sound village and show what certain events (the departure of orochimaru, the great war, ect) did to the place and how it has changed, I'm 100% in. If you give me an arc where the friend "we" made in a previous arc comes to live in the leaf and the episode is just spent catching up with them and showing them around, sign me up because my investment in a previous arc has come back to reward me with further payoffs! It shows me that the previous arc mattered and that I was right to care about what happened in it. But I swear to Being X, if I get one more episode set in the Village Hidden in the Monkey's Left Bumcheek that focuses on how Oonga Boonga, the feudal caterpillar of the land, has a rash on his chin and needs a special ointment fetching before his wedding in 3 days, I'm gonna riot. Because I've never heard of this place before and I'm sure as hell never gonna hear of it again after this 20 minutes is over, yet the whole time this episode is trying to convince me that I should be invested in this, that a genuine bond formed between the characters and that they really will see each other again soon. Only.... wait..... next episode there's no mention of it at all and the kids are just playing Ninja cards? Huh.... its almost as if that 20 minutes of my life last week was rendered completely worthless.

Thank you for this! A well-said review on Boruto unlike most people out there who have a really obvious and strong bias against it with practically no good reasons. I have to say tho Kishimoto coming back makes me nervous for the female characters but I think we'll get to see more serious action stuff soon (and better flashy fight scenes for Konohamaru pls because he keeps giving Boruto the spotlight 😂). I feel like Kodachi does a good job at developing main characters + writing lighthearted stories while Kishimoto is better with villains and action scenes.

I tried to get into to boruto but it all just felt so unnesecary, kinda just like beating a dead horse cuz it still spits money. Naruto has a satisfying ending. By the end of the show the stakes were so high that whenever the movies or boruto try to introduce similarly dangerous villians it just feels foced. I kind of takes away from the hype and the danger of the war at the end of shippuden. its less exciting to watch knowing these kind of threats are actually a regular occurance in the naruto universe. (and also all the women are house wives so thats cool).

It would have been SO much nicer to set the spin off a couple hundred years in the future. Give Naruto his own "First Hokage" type story and show us that the 7th hokage brought about a very long and very prosperous era of peace before he died, undefeated, peacefully of old age. That way we get the new turmoil of Boruto without spoiling the happy ending of Naruto. All the character we know are dead of old age aside from perhaps Orochimaru, but we still get a familiar world with a familiar history and familiar rules and power systems (but maybe some fresh new future techniques and jutsu). Giving a couple hundred years lee-way would also make the tech and infra-structure boom feel more comfortable and reasonable. Don't get me wrong, the series is still enjoyable, but having the two stories separated much more solidly and definitively would have been nice.

You did a pretty good job. Honestly I don't get the hate but from my understanding people hate because it's not Naruto anymore. The whole Naruto as a struggling father I thought was nice as the duties of a hokage would get in the way. True Naruto has a lot of clones, he tried that and it just made Boruto more distanced from Naruto. Boruto and Kawaki's relationship and it's inevitable end does pull the heartstrings of the reader. The only problems I have are Jiraiya being cloned, which in my opinion somewhat lessens his sacrifice, and the fillers. But you did a fantastic job analyzing this series.

My issue with Boruto is that they spent wayyyyy too long in the academy. And that all those academy students are stronger than your average chunin. the story makes sense, you just don't like it. later generations of humans are always better than the old ones. a lot of the episodes feel like fillers but they're essential for the development of the kids bc a peaceful world doesn't really allow for strong enemies to battle with. hopefully kawaki arc goes well and then people can pick up from there and skip the previous eps if they want.

*Spoiler alert* This was the most accurate review ! Dude you literally did Yamanaka's mind transfer jutsu and made a KZbin video of my thoughts . I was really upset that Naruto was ending and desperately wanted to hold onto it a bit longer , naturally i was excited yet scared about Boruto launch. I was excited to see Naruto being Hokage and Sasuke being part of Kohohagakure again but i really hated Boruto being a brat, it annoyed me that Sarada Uchiha wears eye glass. My blood was boiling when Boruto cheated which is soo unlike Naruto who alwaya preached about there being no shorcuts. But my heart melted when sasuke and Boruto ended up in the past and they both got to see how hard Naruto's life was , since then Boruto grew up and was able to connect with his father. Manga is obviously better than Anime. Kara organization seems bit like Akatsuki but not as badass. Even if this is Boruto's story, i am always rooting to see more of original Team 7 and other Naruto characters.

It feels like people read the first few chapters, and decided that it couldn't get any better. I really like the thing you said about Naruto's moments sort of overshadowing Boruto's though. I think Boruto as a protagonist was initially a bit of a sacrificial move from a narrative stance. That's both great and terrible. It's terrible because the people who don't want to suffer through 65 episodes of a whining protagonist stop watching the show and start dumping on it whenever its brought up as a topic. But it is fabulous in retrospect because, if you stick with it, you can look back after you hit episode 300 or something and appreciate his massive growth as a fighter and just general maturity like you mentioned. (Haven't actually read up to an episode 300 equivalent, no manga spoils please!) Personally, he's slowly growing on me now that he's beginning to understand Naruto and especially now that he has a friendly rivalry going on with Kawaki (as of episode 201). It certainly helps that his growth as a person is no longer seemingly at a standstill due to crushing amounts of filler and "anime only" like it was from the episode 67- 140 range (rough estimate).
