Living like this has been a dream for years. I started writing fiction stories about my dream community 20 years ago. I saw it so clearly. Several of my friends are between homes right now and the thought of holding space with them and creating together keeps me going. It's getting closer. Thank you for sharing your beautiful dream-come-true. ♥.

+Easy Going Vegan I greatly appreciate that. It is a weird vulnerable feeling to open up our private home for public viewing and scrutiny but my hope is that it will help inspire others to cultivate more community in their own way in their own homes.

Hey Rich, and Julie and family and extended family and the community. Almost two years since you created together this short video about your community, you spoke about all kinds of construction projects, would love to see a follow up showing the evolution of the Jai community. Happy New Year to one and all, make it the best one ever, x

Community is what the system seems to be bleeding out of a human response to caring and sharing. Consumer mindsets the all mighty quest for the dollar with the supposed happiness it offers. This fosters more of whats in it for me, and get your hands off of my stash, mentality than the understanding that we are all in it together regardless of individual differences. Keep up the great work Rich, always look forward to your podcast. regards Russell

Just subscribed and love your content and PoV. To me it feels like everything about modern culture and society is a rejection of what we know lets us as human beings live a happy, healthy, fulfilled life. Thankfully this is starting to change. We're slowly finding that most all of what was considered lazy, hippy dippy, dangerous, etc is actually good. Sleep is a human necessity, and napping is actually a good thing, food doesn't come out of a lab, and we need to be around real people having actual in-person social interaction to be healthy and psychologically balanced. I find it strange that we see extended families living together as abnormal in the US when it has been the norm for the majority of human history. Love the commune!

This is such a possitive video, this is how we could live, when people talk about communal living they relate back to the late 60s and how it fell apart, the hippie movement didnt work because of drugs. But take the drugs away and focus on health and creativity, then you have what we are seeing here.

This is beautiful Rich. It seems like you have a great life. The problem I have is that it seems that for people to achieve a life in the style you have "outside" of the system, you first have to bust your ass nearly to death inside the system to accumulate a few million dollars. I suppose you can live in an RV or a tiny house for much less, but to truly create something nice you need to have the money at the start.

Commune in a modern home.....Sounds rough. Congrats Rich, keep the videos coming. Think about video interviews, I think they would be a hit.
@richroll8 жыл бұрын
+RocksNClocks I am contemplating filming the podcast -- however my recent video with Russell Simmons -- which admittedly only contained portions of the actual podcast -- was hardly a hit. It has the fewest downloads of any video I have uploaded this year. If people really want me to upload 2 hour conversations onto YT I'll seriously consider it but as of now I'm not convinced there is that much demand for something that will be expensive and time consuming. That said I am open to being persuaded otherwise.
@RocksNClocks8 жыл бұрын
The time is already invested in the audio, the money, well I don't pay the bills bro. Like all things you know that things worth building takes time. The level on intimacy while on video is still unsurpassed. Video killed the radio star. Keep up the great work!
@joefresso8 жыл бұрын
+Rich Roll probably because people know to follow you and find you originally on the podcast. people search for a name of someone you interview through podcast app and find you that way as well. instead of doing video podcast via youtube, just do it all through the podcast app, but put it in the video section, that way it will get to all your current listeners and be searchable to new podcast listeners.

Amazing! Rich, I've been feeling these same sentiments for a long time now. Do you know if there are any movements or organizations that espouse these values in an urban environment?
