Just sent my 456 in for calibration £286 well and truly feel they have had my pants down 😢 mine is 7 years old now, I reckon next year I’ll be in the market for a new one due to its age definitely won’t be a Kane, to be fair the do offer a good service, but I can’t justify the service cost anymore

I am looking to get a testo 300 ultra kit. Seems like the finer ones out there like there at the moment. Price tag varies on the bundle you purchase. Anything £600 onwards. The ultra kit has blue too temp clamps and a Bluetooth manometer for pressure testing and a sniffer. For £1120

I use the Kane 258 as when it goes over the calibration date it doesn't lock out and allows you still to use it. This is ideal for colleges who don't have to abide by gas safe regs and get their fgas calibrated yearly

I’ve got an Anton and it’s so temperamental does my head in. Anything like a high reading and it throws a week long strop.

Using TPI 710 currently, would definitely recommend it. Or the new 711, with the display, if you want display too. Not only cheapest, but comes with 12 years warranty as well. And the printer for it, is the best in my opinion. Good luck, choosing one.

I had exactly the same issue last month, had a kane aswell, calibration cost was like £280. Went for testo 300 in the end, really enjoying it. Amazing thing about it is the C0 reading can go all the way till 4000ppm with no issues The kane the moment it hits 600ppm it starts having a heart attack

I agree mate. I know someone who didnt calibrate theirs for 6 years. I had an anton he had a kane. We did the resdings side by side and they were pretty much the same. Not sure they even do much on calibration to be honest. Its just a readings cert. My kane is now up to yesr 5 and im stuck on what to do too
