As someone who used to be staff on FCSL, you can accurately direct all of FCSLs problems on Dean. Genuinely you can. We had 100% wanted to run a fun, not really competitive, Joust league that would be closer to KAL, Kruton's Assault League, and not something closer to OSL and AGL. I was actually pretty high up in the staff ladder as I would've been one of the 5 people that would've had the biggest decision power as well as one of the people that others could go to with questions. And then Dean decided to change the League to Conquest while only telling Steen. We were not really happy on that, completely blindsiding people like myself and Sarc. If you thought that on the outside FCSL was disfunctional, on the inside it was even worse. I was going to be the main division manager, we were going to have 3 division heads and 1 divisional manager for people to go to. I ended up having 3 names of people I trusted to run divisions but ended up not naming them because I stepped down out of FCSL before I could. Legitimately shit got so bad that I stepped out and down from FCSL before the draft show even started (the one for the draft ORDER not actual draft). 99% of problems came down with Dean being hardheaded (which I can understand with certain stuff), but he wouldn't even listen to me at times which is insane because I was the voice of reason funnily enough alongside Steen, Sarc, and Bracking. Unfortunately I haven't talked to Dean in a long time because of his actions regarding FCSL and I am so sorry to everyone that had to go through it. Though I hoped playing was better than sitting through all the drama (hopefully) Ps Ragnarok Smite League is having an introduction podcast/show tonight at 7pm EST with yours truly! We aim to be better and let everyone have fun! I know Steen, Steve, McThiccLeQuicc, and all of the other managers are working hard to make it get done. Their joust season was really good. I had top 3 teams in both divisions. For their first conquest season this season my top team was 4th (had to FF third), won the middle division and my team got wrecked by hurricane diff in the lower division. I've always given feedback from myself or players that talk to me to leagues and Dean tried to run this league completely different from other leagues and it got a bunch of backlash for a hot minute

NEED the bake kujira jungle footage. On a serious note, great video, fight club was definitely the most dramatic thing to happen in smite recently. Would love to hear more stories about it.

As for the positives, I thought the roster themselves were pretty balanced and the general people who participated were more fun than leagues like OSL ...if all the rosters played (i.e., The Crew not showing up and NMR drama of the league accusing Qona of cheating) As far as Dean, he has always shown me respect when I spoke to him privately; however, I feel like it was kinda disrespectful for him to try to compete with other default times when those same leagues promoted his league and offered to help out. I know the HS FW team had a lot of problems throughout the szn too with the staff. Great video

I agree that the rosters were really competitive. It's a good sign when the first and second seed aren't in finals. At least in the Heavyweight division it was truly anyone's game.

If Steener was still in the league running it with McThicc and Dean had 0 involvement the league probably would have been a bright spot during the dead time with no OSL around. Bad owner + sensitive attitude is never gonna equal a great experience at any level for any league. Excited for Steener's league to start after NY and hope it can claim that very dead Saturday spot

it is Really hard to find staffing for a league tho. so I'm not hating on that.

@@TheR3A1KJB21 Yeah it’s hard, but it also isn’t fair to the small number of staff that they do have to handle the burden of the whole league. In my opinion, the season should have been delayed at a minimum. Maybe they could have just done short form tournaments that would have been less stressful to manage.
