Capcom had the name change in the US in fear of getting a lawsuit by the boxer Mike Tyson. But nowadays, especially in the FGC, they are dubbed Dictator, Claw and Boxer to avoid the confusion.

It was due to translation errors between the Japanese and English versions of the game. Who we know as Bison here in the west is who they still call Vega in Japan.

This line changed my entire collecting habits. I’m a hardcore NECA TMNT guy and had spent years digging in that rabbithole exclusively. Love every one of those figs but randomly saw this Fei Long on a shelf at target and at $25, I couldn’t pass it up. I was the random kid that really liked Fei Long growing up and this figure caught me off guard. Fei Long is one of the best “Guy in Pants” figures I’ve ever seen. I was not ready for how good it was at that price and I basically decided to go all in on the base roster. I’ve since picked up Ryu, Ken, Chun Li, Dhalsim and Bison. Every figure somehow gets more impressive than the last. Dhalsim puts any Mr. Fantastic that Hasbro has ever made to shame. The line also has the unique bonus that having any 2 next to each other is basically a recognizable display. Once I realized they scaled perfectly with a Marvel Legends it was all over for me. Now I’m also flopping around in the Marvel Legends pond trying to fill out a Marvel vs Capcom display😹 Super excited about the future of this line and stoked to see where Jada goes next after they round out the roster.

I have all 6 so far...and I'm gonna open them this week...but I've watched several reviews on them already and know they are great figures. I have almost all the old SOTA street fighter figures but I'm so happy we are getting new ones that will finally complete the full roster. I found them all at Walmart here in Canada on a nice hooked sleeve endcap thingy decorated with the art from the sides of the boxes. Jada is definitely killing it with these figures...I hope they do Final Fight figures as some of those characters actually bleed over into street fighter. Love to hear your as exited as I am for these...I'd like some props from specific character stages sold separately like some of the exclusive figs.

Hello Mike these Street Fighter figures look really good. I'm honestly not collecting this line. I've played Street Fighter long time ago on Sega Genesis if I remember correctly 🤔 This line definitely has some great accessories and pretty good possibility for each figure and a great price for everything that you get with each figure. I can imagine what my wife would say if I did start collecting another line of figures, I'd have a dent in my head from one of the pots in the kitchen. I think Jada, for their first take on licensed action figures like these… they are showing what the industry doesn’t accomplish. Both Fei Long and Chun-Li are masterpieces in articulation when put next to super hero figures we currently have from the domestic companies. I’m most curious to see how they’ll do for Zangief and Boxer (Bison is Vega in Japan, Vega is Balrog, Balrog is Bison. They are Dictator, Claw and Boxer for our own terminology) considering their physique. I’m interested in getting Cammy and I hope the engineering will be on point. Jada would do a better job than McF with the Mortal Kombat franchise and that is a non-debate. Characters from Killer Instinct, Fatal Fury/King of Fighters, Tekken or Guilty Gear would look phenomenal if given the time and passion.

Fei Long was the first one I got. I was delighted with the poseability, extra head and hands. Then I got Ryu and a week later Chun Li. Next came Bison and Dhalsim. I wasn't going to het Dhalsim as when I played the game as a teenager I found him kind of freaky, bit the figure looked so good, I got gim too. I definitely wasnt going to buy Ken. He's just a recoloured Ryu. Yep I got him.😂 They even gave him a none tattered costume, so he is different to Ryu. Mike just to mention, that they don't have drop down hips. They do ve a rubbery diaper overlay which helps them kick high. All of them can do the splits, even Bison. Dhalsim has a "kick stand". My only minor niggleis Ryu's belt being made from white rubber instead of black. Paint stated to wear offy figure's belt too. I repainted it black with acrylic paint and then applied a matte varnish. Looks great and no issues so far. I think Juhn (from Jada) said the bigger figures might range from £35 - £45 /$. That said have you seen the size of T Hawk they've shown at SDCC? Huge!

I don't understand the hands inside the fireball

The hands in the fireball are game accurate. In the first SF2 game when Ryu and Ken throw out their fireball, you can see an image of their hands in the fireball. They later changed the look of the fireball to be more solid color or opaque in later SF game iterations.

Jada Dark Stalkers would be amazing. The Street Fighter line is heaps of fun. I'm trying to not buy all of them. I think Chun-Li is superb. I bought M.Bison but his cape and shoulder pads are defective so I'm gonna return him and maybe I'll get Ryu instead. I'll pick up the characters that I liked to play as. Can't wait for E.Honda and Cammi. I have a space issue otherwise I'd get them all. Great review. Helped me pick a replacement for Bison. 🤘👍
