I am on day 21/30. I wanted to make more of my days but needed to solve sleep issues and meditation was the a big component of the answer. I feel an immense sense of gratitude for this new habit of mine.

I did the trial 10 days with the Headspace app and noticed a difference within just a few days. I am now well over 30 days and subscribed (got a great new year deal) and meditate for 20 mins every morning when I wake up. My thoughts still monkey around but I find them much easier to notice and let go which has had a profound effect on my outlook and how I am around others. The sleepcasts are amazing too! Thank you so much for setting me on such a life changing path

I think meditation is speaking with yourself, understanding why are you feeling what are you feeling, asking yourself where are you now as a frail human beeing, and where are you heading; shaping goals, dreams and encouraging yourself that you can do it if you are willing to work, to persevere, to be dedicated; and after all this talking with youreself, yes!!! you will be feeling peace and calm...

Meditation should not be thought of as trying to achieve a state of no mind, but rather as observing oneself without reacting, that's it.

a great stepping stone for me has been doing yoga! Accepting progress at the rate it arrives and not caring about how long is it going to take or how often I do it didn't even require me to make a commitment after I practiced for the first time. Now, after watching this video, I decided to meditate, starting today!

I have listened to the RRP for over a year but this is my first time commenting because this pretty much sums up my experience with meditating exactly! I didn't have much luck with the headspace app, bit do like 1 Giant Mind. It's definitely time for me to start a consistent practice. February will be my month!

" I had paused my life [in rehab] actually for the very first time ..." I feel that. I am pausing my life since a few months now, no work no study anymore... just searching for answers and simply "be"... and I am frightened and amazed how immense not only body work but also mind work reveals how my environment formed me from birth. Now with the help of feeling safe and YT Channels like yours and i.e. Gabor Maté, Andre Huberman Lab and some german ones I am finally able to conciously remove some old patterns. And I hope in the end I can forgive my family (especially my mother) and be a great mother to my future children. It's hard work and will probably take one or two years but so freaking worth it... probably for the next 70 years of my life :)))

I've been meditating off and on for years and always struggled with maintaining a practice. Recently I ran into a brilliant hack on, I think, the 10 percent Happier podcast: quality minute meditation. Seriously. Sit down and set a timer for a minute. That'll get you there without being intimidating. When the bell rings, don't get up. Obviously you can get up eventually, but do it when you feel ready. Slowly you'll find yourself sitting for longer periods. Obviously having a meditation timer app is helpful since most have a function that continues after the bell goes off (personally I prefer Insight Timer) but it's certainly not necessary.

This video was wacky and I liked it, I think you're absolutely right it's hard not to get psyched out by all the people telling you how to meditate, it's so much easier to forget all that and meditate in whatever way feels natural to each of us. Thanks Rich...I am not feeling very well this morning and I'm searching for a way to stop me from destroying my life...I was able to go one week without drinking alcohol but felt terrible...I thought that if I was to get into meditation and exercise I would feel better, but instead three days ago I bought a 12pk of beer and have had a 12pk each night for the last three days.most times I get a 6pk and although it is not enough to get me drunk, 6 bottles of poison is enough to make me get a hangover..but sooner or later I get into a heay drinking mode and a little while back I drank a 12pk every day for a month and I just felt like hell as you could imagine..and it looks like my wounded self is once again going on that binge...so I must stop this..if I can find a way to draw energy from my true self, I believe that I can heal my wounded self and stop it from killing us..I have been told by a doctor that I am bi-polar and I have known this for many years..when I was younger I had a lot of the highs and felt good and full of energy but now at almost 51 years old, I am having mostly lows and they are really low and cause me to sometimes want to die..I not for the dogs I adopted, I would have murdered myself a few years ago..but this alcohol poisoning is a slow suicide ..I guess genetics caused me to have a heart attack when I was just 30..now almost 21 years later my heart is enlarged and sometimes does not sound right..so now is the time for me to make a stand..thanks again Rich.

Summary: You are a spiritual being having a human experience Consistency is key in meditation There is no wrong way to meditate. Don't get caught up in the varied techniques, the best one is the one you will do What you want to achieve is no mind where thoughts are not invading your consciousness where you are truly in the now When thoughts invade just dismiss them, then move forward, don't judge yourself There is no failure in meditation, there is just do or do not Just begin Find the resolve to prioritize meditation even just for 5 min a day Choose a doable goal, for consistency. Let go of your story...I can't do it...it's to hard...just do it don't judge yourself Meditation helped Rich this way: less stress & anxiety. reduction in irritability, far less reactive, increased mental activity, a sense of feeling calm, being much more anchored in the present moment, sleep better, helps him work more effectively more productive. let go of self will when you are devoted to a very consistent meditation practice working or achieving towards your goals tends to come with ease, as opposed to strain, struggle, and stress and strife and conflict and that alone is a gigantic gift commit to 30 days of consistent meditation there is do and do not choose do!

I love meditating 😻I always visualize while meditating , also it's impossible to not think. If you meditate and do positive affirmations you must think positive . You can't have a blank mind and expect results , yes you don't want to think bad thoughts.(or distracting thoughts) 😊💓 Meditation is a process and if you practice you will notice results. ...What you put out into the universe is what you get back.
