Scanty tried to be the hard guy in this conversation😂 This is a very delicate topic and I would appreciate if you guys discuss it more often Depression is real and people are dying silently on a daily because they have no one to talk to about what they go through emotionally Talking about this more often would encourage people to speak out. Especially the Men without being considered weak when they express how they feel Good Job!!!

Thank you, Scanty! Depression is a serious issue, and most people use it wrongly (or lightly). Someone goes through a sad phase for some time and starts saying they are depressed.

I think you guys can do part 2 of this topic because its very important and educative. Even here in The UK i still see some African parents trying to be strict on their children and at the long it end up creating more issues to them.

Men and women both experience depression but their symptoms can be very different. Like Scanty said “he has never been depressed before” lol. My guy men who are depressed may appear to be angry or aggressive instead of sad, their friends and even loved ones may not always recognize the anger or aggression as depression symptoms. In addition, men are less likely than women to recognize, talk about, and seek treatment for depression. Yet depression affects a large number of men. Let's take our mental health seriously. Again most depression in guys(men) normally comes from Environmental Stress which is financial problems, a difficult relationship, major life changes, work problems, or any stressful situation that may trigger depression in some men. Kudos to you guys especially Sheldon for always making our day ❤✌️🏾🙌🏾👍🏾

I view it this way: It was our authoritarian African upbringing that gave us our strength. Everyone needs to examine himself since what doesn't kill you just makes you stronger. It's a harsh world out there, so if your parents hadn't handled you the world would have. Let's examine how kids are raised in Europe and America. The majority of their issues are the result of poor/ lack of parenting & too much freedom given to children. Lastly our parents aren't supposed to be your closest buddies till you leave the nest.

I think this matter is really broad to be dealt with in 30min but you guys did your best. For me, I've been with my mom for some years, and my dad separately too for some years. Fortunately or unfortunately, I became outspoken while in uni and my mom has been getting my peace of mind every time I disagree respectfully. Eventually, she does her usual gaslighting, and I counter with my ice-cream bribery. A win-win.🤝

@17:16 I don’t agree with Scanty when he says it like that. Every parent should push their children to be successful, but not shove their career desires on their children. The fact that you think being a doctor equates success doesn’t mean your child will succeed in that path. They may be successful and even become icons through social media, a vocational skill, etc.

Even though the number of women suffering from depression is than that of men, there is no any scientific fact backing that, It is perceived to be because women usually, women are more likely to report when they have issue. Due to social pressures, many men aren’t comfortable discussing their feelings or asking for help. As a result, some people mistakenly believe that depression is a disease that only affects women. That’s simply untrue. Women more commonly report symptoms of depression, but it can affect men as well. In fact, it can have serious consequences for men. They’re more likely to commit suicide than women. That’s why it’s so important to get help. I love the topic for today and my suggestion is, nxt time you plan on having discussions like this, kindly bring in a professional or an expert in that field so that after giving your thoughts. He or she will come in with indeath knowledge about the topic to correct some of the misconceptions and educate ur viewers professionally so that it won't jxt be they are learning from what you people think but learning the right thing... U can also call me for topics relating to psychiatry and mental health. Thanks
