That alt ending of another woman with a child would have been a fantastic, full-circle moment! I’m also firmly in the camp of I wish Luke and Lorelai had a 9 year old child we got to meet during A Year in the Life. Seeing how Rory and Lorelai’s dynamic would have changed by throwing another child into the mix would have been far more interesting.

Ohhh yeah I think I would be down with that too! And honestly, yes we wanted to see them get married, but I think we would have been totally fine with them married if in exchange they were more secure and happy. It felt like when we saw them again they were still “will they/won’t they” even though they were back together for a long time! I think a 9 year old would have been cool to see Lorelai with a younger kid!

I agree that the first Mia was the best but I also liked the second one . If Mia was sick then I am glad they found the second one. The fire happened at the Inn just after Mia had been there and I think it would have cost too much to reopen it. Lorelai did say to Sookie it was too expensive for them to buy. I do not think it reopened I don't even know if Mia had already sold it as it was Mia's son who came to inspect it after the fire and had to retrench them

Yeah right! So true about if she was ill, and also so true about Lorelai and sookie not having the money for that! I don’t think they said it sold either I just can’t imagine Mia being ok with owning a place and paying property taxes on a place with no return! She seems like such a smart business owner I don’t think she would want that on her books, but idk you’re right they never really mention what happens to it!

Paris Geller is, i think, Enneagram type 3: pragmatic and efficient, but also premeditated, losing touch with their own feelings beneath a smooth facade. I honestly think that Emily Gilmore is actually Enneagram type 1: Can be highly dogmatic, self-righteous, intolerant, and inflexible. Begin dealing in absolutes: they alone know “The Truth.” Everyone else is wrong: very severe in judgments, while rationalizing own actions. Become obsessive about imperfection and the wrongdoing of others (every maid, or Emily's own daughter, etc.) although they may fall into contradictory actions, hypocritically doing the opposite of what they preach. Become condemnatory toward others, punitive and cruel to rid themselves of wrongdoers. Ones are people of practical action-they wish to be useful in the best sense of the word. On some level of consciousness, they feel that they “have a mission” to fulfill in life, if only to try their best to reduce the disorder they see in their environment. I like that alternate ending way better! Why did they focus on the generational struggle, when they could’ve focused on the continuation of Lorelai’s generosity and warmth? Her love of the community, friendships based on genuine caring, their silly little celebrations just for fun, and everything REAL in life that Emily was too arrogant to experience? The little things in life that end up meaning the most of all.

I liked the first Mia best too. Something I've always thought was weird was that Mia didn't come when the Independence Inn burnt down. She seems like someone who has a lot of different businesses so maybe she was very removed from the Independence Inn but I cannot imagine being an owner of something I had put a lot of work and money into to build it to be very successful and not even be curious if the inn should be reopened or if it should just be shut down and the insurance collected on it. There was an emotional detachment to her investment I didn't understand.

I totally agree! I always thought that too! Even if she was a multiple business owner she feels like she would be the kind of person to show up if there’s a huge emergency! Totally agree! It feels too removed for her, maybe it was a scheduling conflict 🤷🏻‍♀️

From what I understand the original Mia was ill and that's why they had to recast the character. But I do agree the actress who played this character before was much better she gave a warmer feel. And it would be very interesting to see that full circle moment of a young woman who shows up at the front door of the Dragonfly and Lorelai welcomes her in and assists her in anyway she can like Mia did for her.

Michelle was already working at Independent Inn when Lorelai start to work there, Lorelai sad he told sth about her inappropriate t-shirt at work. From timeline, it have no sense.
