Let me make a suggestion. Try watching the video the first time WITHOUT CAPTIONS. It's really impossible to enjoy the performance and try and read the captions at the same time. PERFORMANCE is one of the things that distinguishes KPOP. You can always read them on the next pass.

As an nctizen....it's aight. Cute for the summer. Dream has such light concepts so it fits. It's gonna be a hit, but I'm not gonna wear it out the way I do the other songs. Teddy bear deserves a video.

I do believe they did to contrast with glitch mode who was clearly not easyy listening like beatbox as a title track. With the summer in coming it was the perfect decision to promote dream I think

I have always loved NCT as a whole....but I can say I never like NCT Dream's song "Chewing Gum." I thought SM was trying to hard to make these young men into this cutsey, baby shark acting kind of "babies". Like I said, I didn't like it. But I liked NCT DREAM.They were fresh, talented, and I always thought they deserved a better debut...but this is just my opinion....and am so frickin happy that SM is letting Dream grow up. I adore GO, We Go Up, Ridin, BOOM, and even Dunk Shot. For me Hello Future was what they should be doing, fresh and young, but not baby like. I don't like Hot Sauce, but that isn't cause the guys didn't do it well, it was the arrangement of the song, like Sticker, it actually hurt my ears. And I just couldn't listen. But Glitch Mode and Beat Box, Arcade, and Rewind....I am just happy that SM is seeing them as grown ass artists now.... But this is just my opinion.. if I said something that upset anyone, sorry about that...and thank you Sebastine for your reaction....can't wait for your next one....

Their age during the chewing gum era wasn't young men tho. They were teens. The worst part is they actually released a song called dripping when they were teens. Which was kinda creepy cause of jisungs and chenles age. So chewing gum was fine I guess. Personally didn't like it but was a good start for their age.

They were literal babies during chewing gum. It was normal for there concept. Naturally they are going to grow up with there music as time goes because they are adults now.

Well chewing gum was made when the oldest was 17 and the youngest was 14, would be worse if they perform something more mature on that age 😬

Thank you for you P.O.V. and I understand what all of you were saying. What I meant was that, For Me, I didn't like the concept of SM making them out younger than they were...the video gave off "baby Shark" vibe. Not teenager. Hell "Glitch Mode" is teenage vibe to me. "Hello Future" again Teenage. But Chewing Gum, didn't suit them. "Mu First and Last," seemed closer to what they were. And SM has a history of trying to make their idols appear younger than they are. As well as, with Glitch Mode album being their most successful. I'm just proud of how far the guys have come... so if I upset anyone with what I said, I apologize. P.S. one last thing, I agree with you...when u mentioned the group releasing the song "Drippin" around the same time...it was creepy.. and confusing...

@@stephanielemons2995 I understand..but at the same time I don’t. They were all extremely extremely extremely young. I think the concept fit them fine. Especially the hover board version of the song. It wasn’t too cutesy..it fit there ages. They gradually have grown up with their music. 😊
