Just set the NAM up with Mendel's capture. WOW. Impressed doesn't begin to describe how I feel about this. Thank you for revealing this little nugget to me.

I had that exact same reaction. I used Habags 6534+ #5 profile with my york audio mes 412 os IR, and I was like this sounds and feels exactly like the real thing ive played in store. And I mean EXACTLY.

I'm hoping that NAM's open source nature will lead to an industry standard for interoperability of machine modeled guitar tones. Even Google has realized in a recent leak that open source AI is going to grow at such a rate that they will not be able to compete using fully closed source versions of this new tech. Personally, it would really excite me to see this technology develop in a way similar to image generation ML models in that people are merging the best parts of various "specifically trained" models to create something entirely new that gives them more of what they are looking for. For example...maybe you like the aggression of a Marshall Plexi with a 4x12 at full volume...but then want to get the clean edge of breakup tone of a small combo simply by backing off your guitar volume. Merging the best parts of two separate models could allow you to seemlessly transition between those two different models based on how you play into it! While I'm not against people/companies monetizing tech like this....I'm just very glad there are still people like Steve in this world that are offering their talent and skill out of a desire to enrich people's lives.

Mendel, now this is the interview I would have expected, which answers questions I would have asked Steven! Fantastic! Unfortunately, I saw the interview ToneJunkie TV made with Steven that was disappointing as he did not take the opportunity to ask the right questions that would be in the minds of folks like me in the modern view of tone tools of guitarists! Yours was the perfect interview, in my opinion, thanks!!

I just gave it a try, and i must admit that THIS SHIT IS WORTH IT . The time that I lost to find the right models is largely profitable by the quality of the simulation. This shit will stuck forever in my plugin collection . Thanks Steven .

It beats Kemper and TONX in everymode in terms of modeling amps behaviour. I just did a capture in my channel for my Plex 93 - sounds exactly like it plugged in direct to a load box.

If the future development of guitar tone is in the hands of guys like Steven, I think we are good. Even though my tone taste developed in the mid 80s. At least he is a high gain geek. Cheers from Germany!

The next step is to get someone with hardware expertise involved and build something similar to the ToneX pedal for people who want to be able to load the profiles on some hardware.

How can these captures recreate the dynamic response of the circuits in an amp? The tone stack and the realtime responses of the components under different dynamic demands would require an infinite amount of “captures”.

The answer "it's more accurate because it allows you to configure it for higher accuracy" is kinda ridiculous. Also I don't know if this higher accuracy is generally acknowledged. In any case, apparently a great product and, so far, free.
