Let's Talk about Piranha Plant Cove for Mario Kart Tour and 8 Deluxe!

Yesterday, Nintendo announced their next nitro unlabelled course coming to Mario Kart Tour, "Piranha Plant Cove"! With a trailer releasing today, I thought I should do an analysis on this track and predict what it will be like, as it will no doubt come to the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass!

But instead, we get city tracks taking places in other countries and/or continents like... - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, South America (personally NEEDS for Mario Kart) - Africa - Mexico - Antarctica...? (Not likely...) - Etc. Personally, I would love for that to be the case so that instead of having tracks strictly in North America, Europe, Asia, & Austrailia... ...other continents (Particularly Africa & South America) & their countries can have representation in Mario Kart Tour & possibly Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. And with that said, I think I have an idea of a future Mario Kart video you could do. That is, if you want to do so. Honestly such a terrific looking course, it’s got so much variety to it from the underwater ruins, to a cave section, to the mainland and potentially more, and it’s opened the possibility of sectioned nitro tracks. A shame that we probably won’t get it until wave 5 at the earliest though. My unrealistic hope is that they swap it out for one of the wave 4 cities and place it at the end of the boomerang cup but I know it probably won’t happen.

Great video as always! Piranha Plant Cove looks really cool thanks to its theming and seems great also gameplaywise thanks to the alternative routes, can't wait to race on it in Tour and hopefully in 8 Deluxe, too! The whole MobNU and MobOR discussion further fuels my suspicion that we're not getting three Nitro non-city courses in Wave 6 (seems excessive on its own considering every other wave only has one and even more so considering how slowly we got that kind of tracks in Tour so far), giving us at least one more Retro one which is anyone's guess since it lacks a prefix. Oh, and as an Italian I have my fingers crossed for a city track from my country (most likely Rome)!

The idea of some leaked nitro tracks being test stages makes me think that, apart from NU, another leaked nitro track could be also be a test stage, which would make more realistic sense to have 3 nitro tracks this year.

Yeah I had the same idea with Piranha Plant Cove’s placement. I still thought the Yoshi’s Island would be wave 4 so I ruled that out. Other theories indicate we might get Daisy Cruiser and Koopa Cape in Wave 5, so I couldn’t really see Piranha Plant Cove being there with so many similar themes! So I thought Wave 6 was the most likely, and I also didn’t think it would fit as a final course for a cup. But yeah this completely changed things. Also with us potentially getting 4 more NEW nitro tracks and 3 new city courses, do you think they’ll be releasing them in tour pretty frequently?

IDK, seems weird because that Yoshi’s Island track seems like it could only fit in the Fruit Cup… because, you know, it’s a Yoshi Fruit (Yeah, I know Maple Treeway got shifted, but Vancouver Velocity fits the “acorn” theme just fine on its own, and it’s less specific than “literally Yoshi”)

I’m predicting one of them to be a fossil themed track called Dinosaur Digsite (introducing Caveman Mario or something equivalent from SMO), and the other to be a clown themed track (introducing Clown Mario or something equivalent also from SMO) called Wacky Funhouse, but I know that Yoshi’s Island is leaked for Wave 4 and the bathtub is leaked for Wave 5, and I think it’ll be called Big Big Bathtub.

Seeing that MobOR is not Orlando but Ocean Ruin maybe MobDK doesn't mean Mobile Donkey Kong. I have some ideas of what it could be if not a DK track. Dark Kingdom: Bowser Kingdom themed track or one that takes place not entirely inside Bowser's castle. Daisy Kingdom: a Sarasaland themed track. Deep Kart: a underground themed track. I’m already predicting that Piranha Plant Cove will be in the Feather Cup as it’s labeled Tour, and it’s the only non-city course to feature multiple routes.

It's pretty obvious that this is gonna be in wave 4. So the tracks we know are probably gonna be in wave 4 are Singapore Speedway, Bangkok Rush, GBA Riverside park, Wii DK summit, Gcn DK mountain and this new one. Riverside park being the one I'm not 100% on bc it could be cheep cheep island (hopefully not though), however I hope it's Riverside park and is most likely bc it came back in Mario kart tour a few months ago. The ds ones I think are possible are airship fortress or browsers castle. Also, Albert, you said all nitro tracks released a week before they came into the booster course pass, but that isn't true. Nina hideaway came to Mario kart tour over 2 years bfe the 8 deluxe dlc, so did Merry mountain and skyhigh sundae came out after the dlc.

lmao no. I think I’ll debunk some of your “claims” for now. 1. The only obvious tracks for Wave 4 are the city courses, so the GBA track could be Cheep Cheep Island or a Bowser’s Castle, also Cheep Cheep Island has been in Tour for like, ever, and it’s a great course if it gets the Boo Lake treatment and looks different in 8 Deluxe. 2. Whilst not entirely confirmed, you actually got the Wave 4 cities wrong, they are Amsterdam Drift, LA Laps, and Singapore Speedway. Bangkok Rush is in wave 5. 3. The GCN track just isn’t confirmed, at all. No one has a clue what GCN track will be added here, also I doubt GCN DK Mountain will be added since Dino Dino Jungle follows a similar pattern to Peach Gardens (always the second track of the last cup in the game, so I predict it in Wave 6 Spiny Cup). 4. The general consensus is that the DS track will be Delfino Square or Airship Fortress, I’m unsure why you mention Bowser’s Castle here. 5. This is just laughably wrong, Albert ACTUALLY said that whenever a nitro was added to 8 Deluxe, it was added back into Tour a week later. Never thought anyone could misread that one.

So we don't actually know if la laps or Amsterdam drift is gonna be in wave 4 BC the datemine, (if you want to go by that) shows only 2 city tracks (from what I can remember) in wave 4. It makes sense for LA laps to come back in wave 5 as it will release in the summer anyway. Bangkok rush has just come back in tour along with Singapore speedway, in the current tour, so that's says something. and while DK mountain isn't confirmed for a specific wave, it is confirmed pretty much for the booster course pass as it came back in mario kart tour recently. Dino Dino jungle will probably come back as well, again, we don't know the wave. Also, cheep cheep island has already been given the 8 deluxe remix when it came back in tour over 2 years ago. It's pretty obvious that there is gonna be a GBA track in every wave and we know sunset wilds is coming in wave 5 and there are 4 GBA tracks from tour left: one of the bowsers castle bc obviously there ware 3, Riverside park and cheep cheep island. They probably won't bring back browser's castle bc all of them have come back in previous mario karts and they will prioritize the ones that haven't been in other games, and those tracks are cheep cheep island and riverside park. I mentioned D's bowsers castle bc it's a great track and delphino square came back in mk Wii and isn't in mk tour, however I wouldn't mind if it returned, however it will probably be airship fortress as that came back in tour. If you look at the correlation for the majority of the tracks in the dlc, you'll realise that last of the tracks, not counting the city ones, came out less than a year before the dlc came out, with a few exceptions. Those exceptions are: 3Ds rainbow road, 3Ds Alpine pass, Merry mountain and Ninja hideaway. And talking about the cup places, Dino Dino jungle, in the two proper mario karts it has been in, has always been the second track in tha last cup, so Dino Dino jungle probably won't come back until wave 6 and will be the second track in the spiny shell cup. And, another reason why I don't think they'll bring back a GBA bowsers castle, is BC there are still 1 3Ds track and N64 track coming, so I think either we'll get either 64 bowsers castle or 3ds bowsers castle. And if we get 64 Bowser's castle, I think we'll get wario ship yard.
