I think what Jonti said was spot on. We want the guests to INTERACT with what we build - this is key. Otherwise we’re just imagining and playing with 3D modelling / animation software - a bucket of lego. This is meant to be a game and the cool things about games over lego, is there is a simulated experience beyond our imagination, and that’s a very important part. Good thoughts from both of ya. I remain very optimistic about this game, I think because I took time away from planco1 for many years, coming back to it was much fresher for me and I’ve enjoyed pushing it through the paces. Thanks for the shoutout Moomin! (Edit - carrot and cashew ❤)

I know it will probably never happen, but I would just love for Planet Coaster 2 to be like RCT3 where there is literally everything. There are like 100+ roller coaster types, 100+ ride types, a million different scenery pieces from a ton of themes, you could build ANYTHING. Anything that ever existed in any theme park was in that game. I still stand by that RCT3 was the best Theme Park game ever made.

I'm honestly loving the game more than PlanCo 1. I think it much easier to build in PlanCo 2. I'm not the most advanced builder, but it's so much easier to put anything anywhere, and scaling is way more impactfull than I expected. The pathing is way better too. So the main issues I struggled with in the first game r just easier for me now. That's a win for me

I think that what most people have forgotten is that Planco 1 had a bit of a rocky start as well. There were some pretty big game-breaking issues right out of the gate that necessitated emergency hotfixes. Guests were constantly getting stuck on wide-open paths. There were frequent crashes. There were numerous other issues. I think people are being too hard on Frontier. Planco 2 has some features that were not in the first game. These are things they have never done before. I am sure that a lot of the issues will be sorted out in the next few months. That being said, I do agree with Moomin that the choice of scenery pieces was not a good one. We need more generic pieces that we can use in a versatile way.

I do just want to state that nothing Frontier is doing in PC2 is new - everything RCT3 was Frontier, the water rides, the physics, the scenery, the coasters, all of this is just re-treading old territory, and I think that's why so many people are so frustrated. If they had waited, even until Dec. 12th, they could have at least had the slide physics in, as well as the dual-loading stations.

Yeah I mean it’s weird to compare content of a game at the end of cycle to a new one. Planet zoo was also pretty barebones on release. The actual issues like the actual gameplay stuff is the things I think people need to worry about instead new scenery as that will come with time.

Great video from two of my favorite KZbinrs. Yes, once they fix the game, I'll be so much happier. For example, I built several coasters, and they get stuck in testing mode and never open. I build a pool and the guests just ignore it completely. One of the aspects of the game that I love is walking around as a guest and seeing it from their perspective, but when there's test dummies in the seats with guests, it just feels broken.

I can sum up the problem with PC2 in a few words. Rushed out in time for Christmas. The game has great potential but right now it`s full of bugs, there isn`t enough themes, shops etc etc. The bugs will be fixed undoubtedly and there will be updates with more scenery pieces etc but for a game to be announced and then released within a few months just didn`t sound right to me and I been proved right unfortunately.

You guys provided such a balanced view of things. I am insufferably optimistic so I have just finished my first park and moved on. Though I do struggle a lot with some of the issues in game and I hate that they didnt at least do early TMTK to at least allow the community to release custom stuff that makes up the lacking parts. I dont know why they have chocked off the other themes and the at least existing shops and attractions except that I have a theory that somewhere in their DLC line up plans is a DLC similar to that Reddit post. A vintage Planco 1 DLC. It would make sense since I have been theorizing that Planco 1 nostalgia is going to actually go up at some point and they may be waiting to capitalize on that. If they read these comments though and by luck see my comment... its time frontier. Make it right! For everyone who has given countless hours to the game. You are a wonderful builder and thoughtful person Moomin. Keep up such good work. On a side note... DM me about soup. I have a weird one lol.

Totally agree with everything both yourself and Jonti said, this game has huge potential and just needs the right areas focussed on. You're right about burn out too, we've had upwards of 4 years playing Planet Coaster 1 in it's final state, and to then be thrown into a very similar game with alot of things missing is somewhat demotivating. I have faith that in a year or two this game will be bordering perfection, so long as Frontier definitely continue their habit of honoring community feedback. Great video!

The issue I have is, indeed as you said the lack of themes etc, but the lack of features from the original games. For instance, why don't we have the ability to synchronism coaster stations? This shouldn't be a hard integration as it has been running flawlessly in the first game. Also, where are the hotels? And what about restaurants? Not to mention the various bugs on coaster and ride POVs. That being said, there are some INCREDIBLE opportunities ahead for frontier, and I very much feel like we can't look a gifted horse in the mouth. There are SOOO many things they can implement on top of the already incredible pieces (such as the animation pieces). I personally am quite happy with the current state of the game :) . It just needs to be a bit more polished and TLC. I am hoping to see more awesome Planco 2 updates and DLCs rolling out. :) Thank you for the video. Very entertaining, and my thoughts are very much as you two.

You know what would help? Is if in future DLC, Fronteir doesn't just give us rides that are only mild variations of existing rides, but instead, give us better scenery and theming options. Bring black the classics like Western, and Spooky, and SciFi. (Edit: Posted this before even watching the video, which hammers on this very point.)

I’ve had the game for a week, and my main issue is some stuff in the console controls and how the complexity meter (as proven) is way way way too strict. I’ve barely built a simple parking lot and it took up multiple percents. They could at least make it like PZ console’s meter, which is much more reasonable. Overall I still like the game, and I believe it can and will be improved.

As someone who likes to be create visually appealing parks but enjoys completing career mode i have to say im disappointed that the career levels, to me, are too restrictive. I cant delete alot of the opening layout which i like to do to make it my own, and i find im having to cram rides in to meet the goals and cant create the nice looking park i want. Having completed PC1 I find myself giving up on career mode on PC2 with only 15% completed.

When I looked up amusement water parks in my country, they were actually viking themed! I think it fits really well with water. Also it's a new game, so it makes sense to have new themes at the start. Anyway we definitely need the original themes. Also I feel no one talks about blueprints. There is a lack of them and it's just lazy to rely on the work of the players for the workshop.
@CatalystHD14 сағат бұрын
For me the bugs are what stonewall me when I get a creative burst. Having to manually reset train intervals and fix the bugged out testing screen, the undeletable water glitch... these aren't just funny haha bugs that you get over - they are repetitive any annoying in the way that they directly get in the way of your workflow. That's big for me because while I'm creative, I'm not consistently creative, rather spontaneously creative. Knowing that I'm going to have to deal with these bugs when I get an idea and want to build has been keeping me off the game and storing my ideas for a later date.

I'm only a current voyeur for PC2 since I don't have a GPU that can run it so can't attest to the different pieces and building, however from what I've seen so far, the lighting, pathing, and scaling engines are worth the investment in a GPU that can run the game. I love PC, bought it to create monstrosity coasters but have been spending time recreating or reimagining existing parks and it's a blast! As for your favorite soup my guess is either lamb and potato or even a leek and potato - no reason, I just love those soups. LOL.

@Nerdchacho16 сағат бұрын
Jonti hits the nail right on the head there.. it's fun as a piece of digital Lego, but as a game it sucks a bit in its current state. It is so hard to spend so long on something that the guests just ignore because it isn't coded to do that correctly. I'm currently finding that I think I've hit the point of "doing everything I want to do with the game in its current format" as I hit the end of the current series.. The game needs some love and care before it is as good as the original. We all knew that there would be a step back because sequels never pick up where the original left off.. but that also relies on there being a good game to start with. Second Syndrome is a real thing and we are seeing it with games all the time.. I just hope that Frontier haven't burnt through the goodwill it has spent 8 years banking up... It isn't dead for PC2, but it isn't looking good currently.

Viking and mythology were chosen because because vikings and the greek were largely seafaring folks. In a game that sells itself most strongly on the new (and rediculously often requested so can’t blame them) waterpark stuff, having water-focussed themes is not strange. I’d also argue that strangely, the problem isn’t that the pieces are too themed. They aren’t themed enough. With the cleverness that you can do when you use the pieces “well”, with scaling and recolouring, any piece can become nearly anything. Frontier did this on purpose, as can be seen in the entire palet of pieces, almost all of them are very generic. Especially the wall pieces, “viking wall”, “viking stone fence”, etc. are really just stacked up rocks with little relation to the viking theme. And more pieces work like that, like the aquatic pipe pieces for example. Because of this, and the fact that most pieces are mostly “materials”, you can use them for everything. But that makes the game much MUCH harder if you aren’t a massive architecture nerd (looking at you Silvarret, love ya). I also don’t care a single bit about the flumes being flat at the bottom, but I think i’m the only one there :P I hope the game will continue to be developed further, the groundworks and the improved engine are really good. We just need a development cycle to support it now.
@K3NNYGКүн бұрын
The thing that's annoying me is it crashing on older saves at the moment. The scenery pieces and themes will come so the fact there is less to build with right now that doesn't bother me because that will come over time and the community will find ways to build everything. Just think about all the new things we can do now which we couldn't do before like multi station, drop tracks, switch tracks, pools and water slides and so much more and it looks like we are getting on ride photos this game is shaping up to be amazing imo and they are listening. Honestly one of the thing that makes me happy about the game is that I haven't got the graphics card needed to be able to have the good lighting but it still runs a massive park with over 20 rides and 6000 guests and all the staff too and its still not slow which amazes me as having over 2000 guests in the first game would have been detrimental to my laptop 🤣 I think what I'm trying to say is that yes the game is buggy but they are listening and improving and people need to be a bit more patient and not so quick to jump on the cancel wagon. It is good to say when something isn't working and give constructive criticism exactly how you guys did with this video which was great. I probably watch both of your videos the most to be honest. Let's just get of the hate train. sorry end of essay. 🤣

I’ll be honest, I haven’t played it since getting it, and I had planet coaster when it was with one theme (pirate) before release. I think my pc, doesn’t meet the standards of the game very well, and because I know the time sink it is, I’m just not ready to get invested just yet. I must say, from both of your content, I haven’t really seen the frustration in the product you create. Hopefully future additions make it smoother for you. I've been enjoying Planet Coaster 2 despite the bugs and missing features. I mainly need more scenery and more of the types of flat rides & coasters that I personally care about. The main thing that I care about that Planet Coaster 2 _definitely improved_ over PlanCo 1 was in its ability to run large theme parks. That is HUGE for me, since I have a RX 7900XT and Ryzen 7 7700 machine and yet the fps in large parks is my single biggest turnoff with the original game. PlanCo 2 GREATLY improves that aspect of the game.

IMO the biggest disappointment is the themes (or lack thereof). Pirate, Western, Spooky, Adventure, Vintage, and Studio themes should ALL have made it into the base game for PC2. Re-color and re-size help but honestly not much unless you want to pour hours into a build. The base themes in PC2 would have made for good DLC's but a theme park simulator needs to have realistic theme park themes, and right now, it doesn't.

I miss all of the very generic building pieces, I’m trying to do a Dutch/European theme, similar to the area around Griffon at Busch Gardens Williamsburg, but the pieces we have are just not it, especially our options for doors/windows/beams and just detail scenery in general. Also give us the option to stamp queues or have square edges, if they could remaster and drop some DLC‘s from Planco 1 it would make a world of a difference. Bring in the Studio Pack, and Monsieur Frites! Seriously how do you have a theme park with no where to buy “Boardwalk Fries”😂

I am enjoying the game. But it does feel limited when it comes tothe new pieces. But I'm getting there. 2 things that bug me is the colours not remaining when you choose a new item, like from 1 plaster wall to another. And why do I have to copy paste the colour code and not just click the box with the colour. Ala PC1. Second is we can toggle the angle snap on and off but not the advance move. Hopefully these will be sorted out soon.
