How about just having the remote start in the price of the vehicle so you don't have to pay a subscription for it? you pay 32k for a Legacy Limited or any Subaru at that price, sorry I'm going to find a repair shop to remove said remote starter and replace it with an after market one.

You do have the option to have the price of either remote start worked into the financing. Most customers don't do that, however.

You don’t have to install the remote start in the push button start vehicles. Press the lock button 3 times and on the third press hold it down until it starts.

@@williamd8996 You do have to install the remote start to make that work. Once one is installed the fob does have the ability to do that, but you do sacrifice range. The little fob that you get has a longer range than the keyfob. Now I'm speaking about the genuine Subaru remote start & not speaking of third party remote starts.

Can the horn be silent that beep beep is very loud in my neighborhood before it starts also was wounded if theres a way to keep it running it shuts off after 10 min an thats not long enough to get it warm in the winter

My 2023 Outback won’t be arriving until January, but I’m probably going with the remote key fob. It’s so cool that you got to meet the actors from TWD. I’ve always wanted to meet Norman Reedus. Daryl Dixon is my favorite character.😊

my 2008 Chevy Silverado LT midgrade package has a remote start from the factory not sure why Subaru thinks should not be a standard feature? Just got a 2018 outback touring 3.6r and was really surprised by this!

Subaru used to send us cars from the factory with remote starts installed. When COVID19 happened, they stopped. The only time I see them from the factory now is when a customer built & ordered a car & had that option added.

I currently have 3 Subarus and my 21 Crosstrek sport came with remote start, loved it. The 3 year subscription expired and would cost me $150.00 to renew. That will probably make the last Subaru I buy. Not happy at all.

Yes, it would come down to if you can find one. I would start by checking with your local Subaru parts department. If they don't have any, you could check third-party sites to see if there are any out there.

I saved my money and purchased a new 2023 Subaru Forester just last week. Yesterday I purchased a remote start for it from the dealership and installed it myself. I'm so poor I thought I could save some money. I installed the remote starter without a problem using the dealership print out instructions. Now when I try to start it, it beeps four times rather than just two times and it does not start. I don't know what to do. I spent all my remaining money on food and I cannot afford to take it to the dealership. Life sucks at times it really does.

So I asked my service manager about your issue. He said while you could install a remote start yourself, it must be programed. He said the service department will need to program it for you to get it to work.

I have a 2021 automatic Crosstrek with key start and the visual eyesite can i go to a dealer and have them install this? I just need the keyfob. Im reading a few places that it wont work on some models of Crosstrek is this true?

Remote starts that are installed will work with any Crosstrek that is a CVT. Remote starts will not work with a manual. Since your Crosstrek is an automatic it will work just fine.

Then you're not going to like an idea certain auto manufacturers are toying with. They want to make you pay a monthly fee to use blindspot detection or adaptive cruise control amount other things. And if you don't want to pay for Starlink, install the remote start & move on.

My Subaru /Starlink is a money grab. Nothing but scam! And it’s not dependable at all. Mine only started about about 10% of the time. JUNK!
