There's also one by Polish brand, Renesans Intenso, and it's called Cadmium Bordeaux. It looks like two mentioned in 4:54 but it's even darker and browner.

Oh! I haven’t heard of that brand before. Interesting that there is an darker shade. Is it close to Indian red?

I LOVE granulation so I’m here 😂. This looks like a red I’ll use, it’s gorgeous when mixed with complimentary paints. Thanks, great informative clip

I got a deal on the volcano trio some years ago and volcano brown has become one of my favorites. I’m also a big fan of mars black PBK11 though. From what I’ve seen, another amazing mix with this red is desert green.

I just ordered the Volcano Red and Yellow in half pans (the tubes are so expensive!). Looking forward to mixing them with other granulating colours! The shop painting looks great - I bet that red is also very useful for painting bricks.

Oh yes! Bricks 🧱 I forgot about that!

Hi Alice, thx for the review. I am wondering if you had any difficulty with the binder separating from the pigment? I have seen several videos from other people on KZbin where there was significant separation and I am hoping that it isn’t a wide spread problem. They also had issues with the Volcano Red…

I had that problem with Volcano yellow, but not the red

So far there is no separation in my tube but it takes awhile to rewet the paint in the pan.

Yay!!! I was just in the art store last night trying to decide between Cad Reds and thought, I better look on KZbin first, and here you are!! 😂 I actually have the Volcano red but I want to supplement it with another cad red so I don't use too much. Do you find any of the other brands granulate as much as Volcano Red? I'm leaning towards one of the Holbeins or Schmincke cadmium reds.

Just what a was looking for. One thing only that's been on my mind, though: in terms of granulation only, is it too much of a difference compared to Potter's Pink? Thank you so much for this video. All the best! 🥰

Between potters pink and volcano red?The colour’s different for sure. Volcano red seem to be of bigger particle size too.

@@eurekawandersInteresting. I'm looking for good granulating mixers and Volcano Red really caught my attention. Thank you so much, Alice. :)
