Forgot to mention in the video, this was the primary patch note that EA did to fix the lateral movement issue in FNC. This same fix, IMO, would work wonders in Undisputed. Notice the first line; in FNC you only move laterally full speed with the guard down. That's huge. That would be a very good fix IMO. Locomotion Updates - Boxers can now move forwards with their guard up as fast as opponents can move backwards with their guard down Movement speed near the ropes or corners is affected. Makes it more difficult to consistently run throughout the course of a fight.

Time Stamps. I RANTED a LOT. Harped on previous fight nights far longer than I intended to. Apologize in advance. This isn't my usual type of video; but hopefully the VERY FEW Ideas that I did present make sense AND hopefully in the midst of my rant, some light was shed on the state of some of our favorite boxing games; because I do feel as though we romanticize about them a lot and forget the state they were in, initially. I remember them vividly. That is in no way an excuse for SCI, however. They've literally taken multiple steps backwards at this point. Broken things aside, there were literally ideas that worked well in practice during the EA that were scrapped from the current build. The errors in their development seem so vast that you have to question if they are even capable of adding some of the features they previously had without completely crippling the game. We need your ideas to get to Undisputed. Pretty sure, and you may not remember (I'm only a KZbin watcher, not a creator at all). But years ago you and I were in forums and discussing changes to FN Champion. I was in the corner, at that time of making an all in one blocking system. I know you were dead set against that type of blocking and in the end you were way right on that point. It made Champion much too simple of a game. But I've really respected your insight ever since, and especially with your real life in ring knowledge. I just think a game company, especially one with at least a solid gaming engine (at one time), could use your input as a guy who does it, or has done it, in ring, as well as a gamer who actually really analyzes shit and gets in there and takes a scientific approach. This is the input these guys need. Anyways, I hope they can see this, because these ideas would without a doubt change the current game for the better. I would still like a parry system, and I would like a pivot system as well. I've found a boxing game that has pivots, it's just low graphically. But it is really cool to see the young man that has developed that game, all by himself, with no previous experience. If he can make a pivot system that functions without getting your fighters all out of sorts in crazy positions, surely a bigger crew of developers could implement that in a future game.

respect bro. No game is ever going to be perfect, we have to just work with what we got and give feedback best we can. Doesnt help that alot of gamers online are so whiny (the negative videos always pull more views than the postive on KZbin, not just Undisputed you see the same with COD/FIFA etc) so it must be hard for devs to filter through that to get to the constructive feedback. With that being said I think the game needs better ways to avoid punches - the slips/weaves/ducks dont really work so your only option when fighting a power punch spammer is to block (but you will still take damage) or use your feet to get in and out, but neither leave you the opportunity to counter back in a way that is going to hurt your opponent. Throwing a power puch should leave you vunerable, it needs to be a high risk, high reward type of thing when it isnt in the current state.

They need to go back to the original idea of having a sim mode and an arcade mode. That will appease both sets of fans and simply have two different teams working on those aspects if possible. You need pivoting, head movement, slips, adrenaline system and vulnerability in the sim mode and they initially had that with ESBC so they can definitely do that (adrenaline system). They also had manual blocking too and you could choose if you wanted manual or auto. They had the perfect concept and just blew it all up for the most high knows what reason smh
@im_cold_blooded4 күн бұрын
I remember the manual blocking in early access in their simulation mode and I honestly believe with the right steps, it could be implemented for casuals as well. They just have to want to put forth the effort and stop catering to what is honestly the smaller demographic. The loudest people in the room are folks who wanted a die-hards boxing game. I don't see too many guys who clamored for an arcade-ish product. The initial intrigue behind the game was it's realism in the first place. That should have been all of the anecdotal evidence they needed. LOL.

It's a massive part, and it's the primary aspect of the block that I noticed was changed in the Playtest build. It's what I was attempting to do when Power Punch spamming was heavy, to block power punches; but everything kept going through. They definitely fixed it in this playtest. But the game has too many other issues around movement, the rate at which people throw shots, etc, to ask people to rely on stationary blocking mechanics, right now. you see the main problem with the defense? i see the main problem with offensive movement. the meta at the moment ist to wait an make your opponent chase you. it is much easier to let the other person enter the pocket and just do a hook+hook combo when then enter with a punch. the forward moving punches/combos are so slow. it you try to enter with a jab you eat 2 free hooks. hooks in general have to much range compared to the jab. hooks also have the hit reaction and more damage then the jab. that makes playing in a pressure style way harder then playing the waiting game. you can clearly see that when you watch someone in the upper ranks that is playing to win. when you now debuff being offensive with the stamina punishment when your punch is being blocked then being offensive gets even more difficult. in my opinion we need more options/ways to pressure some one. a possible solutions would be to give the jab more range then hooks. it would give people a reason to use the jab. it would discourage people from using stationary hooks that are very fast compared to a forward moving jab. give jabs and the cross a purpose!
@im_cold_blooded2 күн бұрын
I love the detailed response brother. Most of your sentiments are also addressed in the video; all of them, actually. I'll touch on every one of your talking points and how i think the aforementioned fixes indirectly also bleed into or aid in making those things better, as well. "You see the main problem as defense?" No. I mentioned Defense, Spamming, and Movement. I mentioned punch trajectory as well, but instead of diving too deeply into it I mentioned it should be reverted back to how it was during the original Online Beta, or even one of the EA Builds. "The Meta is to wait and make your opponent chase you) I agree. See my suggest for movement changes. Here is a copy and paste of a patch note from EA, when running was a huge problem in FNC. " Locomotion Updates - Boxers can now move forwards with their guard up as fast as opponents can move backwards with their guard down Movement speed near the ropes or corners is affected. Makes it more difficult to consistently run throughout the course of a fight." On top of this, they also made stamina costs for constantly moving on the back foot and made boxers move backwards SLOWER while moving backwards with their guard up. I suggested they do the same, or even make it to where you can only be in loose movement for so long - to force people to bounce in and out of it more often. The idea of simply punishing people for scaling the ropes forces them to have to circle the center of the ring more often, which immediately buffs the front foot. I also mentioned that, during early access, I did a video about pressure. You had to be within a 180 degree angle of your opponent before you could get a speed boost. Anytime you found that straight line on your opponent you could walk toward them faster than they could walk away from you (even in loose movement). I recommend you see that video for reference. Hence why I said they should also bring that back. ALL of this aids the front foot. But none of this is balanced well if the defense is not fixed in a way where both parties have to pick their spots wisely. Here's the thing; the best RUNNERS you will come across won't be very good with their timing on counters, their guard on 6 axis blocking, or their offense with getting around your own 6 axis block. Boxing, and this game, should be a constant eb and flow where once you take away one of your opponents strengths, you then see where else he is strong at. Because those changes I am referring to in defense will be a massive buff for some and a nerf for others. It creates a skill gap. "when you now debuff being offensive with the stamina punishment when your punch is being blocked then being offensive gets even more difficult." Again, this is only an idea for 6 axis blocking. This does not making offense more difficult, it makes DEFENSE more difficult and rewards shot selection AS WELL as solid defense. It creates a scenario where no matter what direction i am blocking, you always have FIVE OTHER OPEN AREAS to touch me. Versus currently, you only have ONE open area (High, or low). " possible solutions would be to give the jab more range then hooks. it would give people a reason to use the jab" I agree. But I also recommend you See all of my footage prior to the Nov 15th patch and all of my footage in Early Access. I was averaging 100+ Jabs a fight, easily, and rarely trading with hooks. The jabs were also bleeding through the block beautifully with no issue. Again, that is why i mentioned REVERTING BACK to the way things were a couple patches ago on top of the other additions. All of these things in itself don't just create a better or more realistic/authentic feel.. they slow both offense and defensive styles down dramatically. And how fast you operate then becomes relative per individual skill ceilings. As it should be. Lastly, I do have a ranked account on XBox that is Gold 2 at 42-6, playing as Canelo. The que times are a bit too extreme right now for me to want to push further on top of me just hating the playstyles in Ranked. But I'm well aware of what the meta is AND, I've done pretty damn good against it without stooping to those lows. All I mentioned above, IMO, will GRATELY impact the meta and the way people play as a whole. And they're all changes that seem possible within the games engine as opposed to asking them to add entirely new mechanics that they're probably unable to do, now.
