What makes people have such a visceral reaction to Vayne compared to the Jayces, Teemos, Kayles, Quinns, Gnars, Kennens, Vladimirs, etc. that top lane has faced for the last 9-14 years? The amount of immediate full-blown tilt I've seen spawned by that matchup is impressive.

Most of the ranged top cancerpicks have counterplay. Vayne Q makes it really hard to chase her down on dashless champs, vayne passive means she can follow you all the way to turret easily, meaning one mistake is instant death, vayne E denies bush-camping, and also denies champs with jumps like jax from sticking to her, and vayne W allows her to shred tanks, so you can't even pick tankj play safe

The sad part is that Vayne could very realistically still have won that game if her teammates had done better despite completely messing up her own lane at minute 2. In SoloQ top is just really not relevant most of the time so picking a ranged lane bully has very little downside because the other players will rarely be patient enough for their melee opponent to actually scale and become useful before the game has already been snowballed one way or the other. Obviously Bwipo is practicing for pro, not trying to maximize his SoloQ win rate, but if he were to play some of these ranged picks it could be great to see just how little agency all of his opponents would have playing their melee top laners.

You write a lot despite having zero clue. Bwipo is a great player but this is solo que, challanger at that. Those player have no reason to afk just so their random toplaner can get lots of items they actually want to win. And since high ELO people know how to finish games, the games are short. Also vayne and Tf scale quite well compare to most top lanes.s

The games are short, so having an early laning phase advantage (even at the cost of a later mid game disadvantage) can allow you to effectively deny your opponent the ability to ever have agency. And ranged bully top laners often win the early levels outright due to their range advantage against melee champions, meaning those melee champions often never actually get to impact the game in a meaningful way. If Vayne hadn't completely mechanically fumbled her lane, Bwipo would likely have never gotten to make a single meaningfully impactful play the entire game (and even though she did Bwipo's contributions really didn't matter towards the outcome of the game). If Bwipo really wanted to maximize his win rate he would quite playing top and go play jungle or support so he could have significant impact every game towards the game's outcome. But ofc Bwipo is practicing, so there's 0 need for him to do that. If you don't believe me just ask Bwipo or any other high elo player.

Vayne is broken in good players hands. My most played top is briar (yes easy champ) so I fully understand the vayne abuse as she counters my kit haha
