The wonderful thing about the continuation novels by Amis, Benson, Boyd, Faulks, Horowitz etc is that these authors have already solved the creative problems EON struggles with to reboot the films. The way forward is clearly laid out for them. There is no need to spend several years figuring it out. Just trust the writer(s). Benson and Horowitz have also written scripts and produced, quite successfully. They get things done. They also care very much about Bond and would take good care of the franchise.

This is great! I re-read all of Fleming a few months back (interspersed with Horowitz), and I’m in the middle of re-reading COLONEL SUN before venturing in the wilds of continuation books. I just ordered Beyond Fleming and will get Keeping 007 Alive at some point too. I already have his Lost Adventures which is essential. I love how esoteric this topic is and how great the conversation was.

Enjoyed the interview, I will certainly buy Marks book. The Gardener and Benson were widely available here in the UK back in the day, nowadays eBay is the only way to buy them, unless you see one in a second hand book store or charity shop which is a rare occasion.

I really hope you intend to review all the continuation novels after you complete your Fleming readthrough. I'd love to hear your in-depth thoughts on the Horowitz books since I am a huge fan of his TV work (Foyle's War is a modern masterpiece and some of his Poirot adaptations are genuinely better than the stories) and I enjoy his mystery novels (the Horowitz & Hawthorn series and especially the Pund & Ryeland books).

Does the book include all the graphic novels?

@@jdsantibanez this book is only going over the continuation novels and short stories. It doesn’t cover the comics which have been detailed some in other books. There is certainly enough material for an entire book on Bond comics.

It focuses on all the novels, short stories, and novelizations. I get into the comics a bit in THE LOST ADVENTURES OF JAMES BOND, including some unconventional ones. I'm also a Bond comic book fan.
