This video is not a response to any particular video, comment or post. It is my thoughts on the various videos, comments and posts that are discussing this topic. I didn't mention any one particular party because that wouldn't be fair as there are many different parties views on the subject.

lol In all seriousness though I want to try an Argon mk3 at home next with all of the different zmf pads Ryan offers to see if I like any of them. Because as of now the Blackwood and Ori stand tall above everything else I've heard using this driver

I don't know of any ZMF mk3 based mod reviews actually, and my old ones for Ori and Blackwood were when they were still mk2 mods, so would be interesting to see what they're like now.

Watching yourself when you speak is a common mistake new KZbinrs make. It adds awkwardness, hesitation and the general feeling that you are thinking and not fully invested in what you are saying. It's odd. What I do if I'm helping someone get setup is I use a monitor that is small enough to only see basic framing and I move it far away from the talent. That way they can see if they are in frame, but not sit there and admire their own face, which interrupts their speech. I appreciate your thoughts on the t50's. I have a T50rp that I'm keeping stock to use as a base line. Planning on ordering another one to mod. What's the best mod in your opinion for deeper fuller bass?

Argon mod is the best for a T50.

I agree 100%. In the world of full-size planars, for about $160, the Fostex T50RP MKIII is probably the best value overall. I auditioned one years ago and I don't think my old Fiio X1 back then is able to drive them properly. They're one of the hardest ones to drive. And they look ugly, with the antenna-like tubes for sliders and all but they sound like a classic. Can't tell much about the sound anymore unless I audition another one. On the issue of mods, you're right. There is nothing else. It comes with the price too. Just an example, would you mod a $300 - $1000 Hifiman? Or anything else? Plus, other planars are not that easy to disassemble. Even cheaper Grados are not at all "moddable". I'm not sure why that discussion even exist. If it ain't broke, don't fiddle with it (modding a T50, that is). :) Relatively new subscriber. Love your content. They're quite long but I think you taking your time and not rushing is refreshing. :)

The T60rp is another option but it is also a Fostex, very similar to the T50rp. Most other planars are very hard to remove or disassemble or are in very pricey headphones to begin with, so no I wouldn't use them. Sound wise there isn't a planar that is better for the price, none come even close to the $160 range for the quality of sound. Length of videos, yeah I can be long winded at times. @@TheHonestAudiophile You're welcome! I checked the T60rp. They're more expensive at $300. Still, the 50rp is the better value. Which reminds me, I need to audition another Fostex when I get the chance. No store near us so I rely solely on reviews and online purchases. As for reviews, keep 'em coming! :)

Hello David... I am new to this channel.... I'm planning to buy one t50rp (unmodded).... I'll have to ask my friend currently in US to get it for me....he is returning next month.... Can you please suggest me a simple mod that I myself can do like a pad swap or something.... Argons mk 3 would fall out of budget for me to think of them as of now ... Thanks in advance.

The only mod that I have done and that was "fairly" simple was the Mayflower mod with baffle change. @@aditya50499 its simple. The baffle is a foam ring that fits around the driver. You remove the original one and replace with the new one. No tools or glue required.

@Aditya Kumar Sahni The baffle can be order from Mayflower when ordering the mod kit, see link in first response. I am sorry those are the pads I recommend, havent tried any others.
