I don’t get why he would ask that she couldn’t be with men when she’s on the job. It’s literally her job to instruct people on how to surf safely and properly. And swimsuits are her job attire. Why would she stop doing her job for him lmao?
@maem7462 Жыл бұрын
Exactly and with his job with acting there is a possibility of him having a romance with someone and possibly having to kiss another actor. I doubt she’s asking him to stop doing that. Also somehow it’s okay to be acting and possibly kiss the other acting but just being around a dude and teaching him how to surf is too far in his head for some reason

I have been through a situation like this. When I was talking to my last partner, I told them I did fetish modeling, and asked if they would be okay with that, they said yes. As soon as we got into a relationship, they didn't even want me wearing a one piece bathing suit on the beach, and ended up telling me that if I was R-worded while modeling, I would deserve it. Took me 6 years to get them out of my house, and it was hell.

I'm so glad you're back! I used to watch you more when you were more active in 2020/2021 and those videos helped sparked my interest in social issues. I was 16 at the time but your videos helped shape my stances on social issues. They served as an introduction to issues I'm now passionate about. I'm now a Social Justice Peer Educator at my college! I'm also interested in the therapy speak discourse online because my ex would also use this kind of language to justify their somewhat selfish actions. I also made mistakes in that relationship and it was my first queer relationship, but it left me with a lot of anxiety to the point where I would cry at least once a week. I miss my ex a lot but looking back I did not appreciate their misuse of therapy terms such as boundaries. They ended our friendship over text, after months of me being confused and lost in the relationship because we went from breaking up to just friends so quickly.

In addition to insecurity, it implies a serious lack of trust. If you have so little trust for your partner, why are you even dating? The older I get, the more I realize that dating is optional. You're not obligated to date or be in a romantic relationship. Get comfortable and confident with yourself first. Don't invite someone into your life, until you can extend a basic modicum of trust. But maybe that's just me.

Awesome to see you back! Yeah, relationships can be really complicated. If boundaries are set, it should be willingly agreed upon and not controlling in anyway. I'm divorced and have a really good relationships with my former partner and her family. Even if our kid is all grown up and out of the house, we still see each other in the things we do, it's kind of unavoidable. Any boundary should be willingly agreed upon, a lot of people have to communicate with their former partners.

That whole discourse was a major hit to a lot of my friends who do have NPD mental health.

THAT is a boundary. that is what healthy communication wnd compromise between couples is

"Why do men get into relationships with hot girls and then get mad when their girlfriends are hot?" This is something I've been racking my brain about for a while and tbh I think it goes back to them believing the women are posting or dressing that way to get male attention. It doesn't even cross their minds that women could be doing it to idk ... display their surfing skills, show off their fitness progress, because they like the outfits they're wearing. So once these girls are in relationships, of course they expect it to stop because in their minds, why would they need to advertise a clearly filled position (aka boyfriend)? The girls must be doing it for male attention, which is a threat to their place in said hot girlfriend's life. When you put yourself into their (very messed up) mental space, I guess it makes sense why they're SO insecure, even if it doesn't make it less toxic.

That’s the thing with this. She was already doing these things before they dated, he was aware of it, and if he disliked that, why date her at all? You should discuss your, what he decided to refer incorrectly to as boundaries, before getting serious. It allows both parts to walk away or recognise red flag behaviours. For example, I’m allergic to golden retrievers and labs so I wouldn’t date someone with one, and if I did, it would be so stupid to turn around and demand they get rid of it since I dated them knowing about it. And I feel like the misunderstanding of the word boundaries is so unfortunate because it makes it seem lesser when someone speaks about their, genuine, boundaries being crossed or tested/pushed.
@AnotherQueer Жыл бұрын
I had a friendship in which my boundaries were constantly being pushed and overstepped. At the end of it I was compromising on pretty much everything and making excuses. This man permanently ruined my finger because he wouldn’t listen when I told him it wouldn’t crack. I saw his dick, I never asked to, never wanted to, and twice I saw in and not in a situation where it would be normal. His jokes hurt. In hindsight he was incredibly abusive to the girls in our group. Gradually he broke down sexual and physical boundaries. This is where boundaries are important, they still should be respected, but never demanded.

You can't control other people, you just can't so there's no point in trying. You can't control if someone is staring at your partner, nor can you control your partner if they choose to engage. If you're so worried that your partner is gonna leave you and find someone better because they're attractive, you shouldn't be in a relationship to begin with. I desperately want a bf right now, but I'm working on dealing with my addictions and messy room and even social interaction since my whole childhood and adolescence was a bit lonely. I'm learning to love myself and I'm happy despite the fact that I messed up my car this morning and my college messed up some scheduling. Your partner clearly likes you for a reason. There's something you've got that they like and maybe it'll even be something you're self conscious of, who knows? But they like you, they want to be with you. Why mess it up by trying to control them? If they cheat, that sucks, but that's the trash taking itself out. Why ruin a perfectly good relationship? If you're feeling insecure, just talk to them. And we need to put therapy speak on a shelf bc way to many people just misuse it and I'm so tired of it. Especially people who don't have stigmatized conditions (but that's a whole nother can of worms that I don't wanna open lol)

I saw your comic recently titled "Not all men" and I would like to contribute to that discussion. I feel that some individuals who do say "Not all men" have said so in the past as a point to do what they potentially believe is defending their gender or also potentially trying to tell someone else their negative experience with an individual or individuals of the male gender is invalid. I can completely understand why one would potentially correlate individuals who are men to being dangerous when they've had a horrible experience with an individual who is male. While at the same time I also value individuality and not treating individuals as if they're one unit, for example, a government is an organization that is one unit with individuals inside of it, and an individual is an individual, there should not be a distinction between male and female as that is not guaranteed to say anything about the individual especially if they do not identify with how they perceive some people to want them to conduct themselves due to their gender. I believe that since everyone is individual obviously, a useful thing and one of my favourite things to say is "Some do, and some don't", meaning some people have a certain attribute, and some people do not. I feel that we should also not be judging individuals on their gender, but instead on how they conduct themselves. A point I wanted to mention is that being bitten by a tick is similar to walking closer to the highway, it may potentially increase your chances of being hit by a car, and yes we know this because many humans potentially have had experiences being bitten by ticks and dying from the bite, and that potentially caused other humans to develop a correlation to ticks being dangerous. From my experience it is better for me to judge people based on how they conduct themselves, their inflections, the way they dress, the way they walk, anything except for their gender. I would ofcourse respond to a person who looks dangerous in my perception differently than I would to a person who looks friendly to me. A large problem is also that more women may potentially be getting assualted by men than women assualting men, but that does not make any individual experience invalid still ofcourse. I am saying that you cannot make the comparison of an individual who is male to a tick, because ticks from my experience and potentially many others are just ticks, but I can see how some individuals would feel the need to stay away from all men potentially due to the correlation from their experience. I believe what is important is treating people with individual respect, as everything to due with assualt is variable and not guaranteed to be the same from person to person. From my experience I have never heard of two people having the exact same experience ever. I believe in potentially many, many cases such as pay rate, a strong contributing factor or potentially the only factor has been gender, which that needs to change. While at the same time an opposite example would be an individual who doesn't go to school anymore because of the fear of men, while this may be the only factor there may be more at play and the fear of men may only be a contributing factor. Same with why some women aren't successful, the only reason may be gender, or an individual who is male oppressing an individual who is male, but it may potentially be due to a multitude of factors contributing to the reason why. I believe the patriarchy exists for some people and does not for others, I believe systemic oppression does for some and doesn't for others. The entire thing is individual but there needs to be a general rule that individuals women and men are equal, people should only be judged on the way they conduct themselves. In short, I believe this comic is false, and generalization should be elimanated. Because denying anti-generalization is also saying people cannot be what they want to be because therefore they are not individual. Think of it like this, a disorder or disease, let's say it's a turkey sandwich, now everyone will interpret and perceive the taste of this sandwich differently on their pallet in their own way, but by denying this fact to them, you are potentially correlating that the way they taste the sandwich is the general rules for the way the sandwich is supposed to taste without their own interpretation. That is what anti-generalization is and it helps many, many people potentially and everyone should adopt it. It also helps in the case of feminism, for example some individuals who are women can do things that other individuals who are male cannot, like be a fire fighter without any training potentially. But the problem is we're using averages and hurting too many people way too much, we are sampling an extremely small amount of the population of Earth and looking for patterns. So no I do not believe 1 in 3 women are all guaranteed on average to be assualted or feel threatened because that would be billions of women. And from my experience from what I've seen, there are not billions because the world would potentially be a very different environment today. But there are people who need help, but treating the individuals who are the male gender as one unit that you should fear is not going to promote gender equality, and there is a point where the responsibility relies on the individual to take true independence by seeking help potentially or helping themselves, being resilient and adapt to their situation and take control of their perception, and also there is a point when men become a contributing factor and fear becomes a way of life potentially, because some people's brains work on the idea that any action they do that does not kill them contribute to their survivial, especially if that action promotes happy emotions. That is the foundation of addiction for some people, and it works on correlation, and for some people, fear may be similar to that concept, and work more as a way of life, ofcourse not always voluntarily ofcourse, I am sure the phobia of individuals who are male has RUINED many people's lives, because I have seen it from my experience, even individuals who are not women, but they are still not invalid because there may potentially be less of them.

That insecurity ate alive the only relationship i had where i felt like i truly loved them. I lost them and have never forgiven myself. Im just happy that it ended on a good note and i didnt extinguish their light. Jonah is doing controlling shit, for sure. Hopefully whoever's with him leaves or he gets a grip and stops.

I’m autistic and I often associate the features of human faces with animals, because I love animals and my brain enjoys the pattern recognition. That being said, no offense intended, but your face reminds me so much of a sugar-glider and I am so happy to see your face again 🥰 I know this is kind of a random comment, but I just wanted to let you know because this topic is a very sensitive one for me and I have always found your face very comforting, especially so throughout this video. Like I have said, I have missed seeing the sugar-glider sweetness of your facial features. I hope that you don’t feel offended or upset by my saying so. I have found that very few people are safe to express this kind of thing to, which I find very sad as I feel like it is one of the best compliments ever because I am so genuinely elated when my brain forms this association as animals are precious and special and amazing which means that I find you precious and special and amazing. It is my brains way of assisting me with creating and nurturing connections with the humans around me, as I find it very difficult to manage social communication. Something as mundane as looking at peoples faces can be very overstimulating & difficult for me to cope with, which creates additional disconnect and social difficulties during social interactions. When I am able to find a comforting association between someone’s facial features and animals that I love, it makes me less disconnected from my fellow humans, which is really vital. It’s important that I emphasize that when I make these associations, they are not just formed based on physical features but mainly by observing & analyzing a person’s facial mannerisms, expressions & reactions. I get to learn each person as an individual based on my interactions with them, so once I’ve found their animal, it means that I’ve been learning about them and have formed a bond of some kind with them - they are now more than “an anthropomorphic blob”, to quote my 10 year old self. Anyway, I’m sorry for my ramble - I know that not everyone understands or appreciates the extent of what it means to me when I share their animal with them and so I often hesitate to share as I risk offending, upsetting or alienating the person I’ve become connected to and the last thing I want to do is say something to someone I care about that they find hurtful. That being said, I feel like you will be a safe person to share their animal with, hence this very long comment and explanation. I believe that you are very compassionate, kind and possess the social & inquisitive nature, intelligence, playfulness and sweet, loving temperament of a sugar-glider. Also, the purple hair is so lovely, it very much highlights your personality! 🥰
