I would say, your best bet at getting a doll *SIMILAR* to Mateo and Junie, is getting a custom from Silvia Ezquerra. She makes customs, (very beautiful, my friend is getting one), even though you may end up waiting in line for over a year, believe its worth every penny :)

I'm not keen on spending high amounts of money on reborns, but when I see an expensive animatronic doll e.g by hasbro, or playmates, I am able to find the money because to me an interactive talking doll is sooo worth the expense! Hi Kelli! I have a baby from you (Twin A by Bonnie Brown back in 2023) and you were so great to work with! Here’s my thoughts on reborn pricing: I think a lot of people (especially children) are surprised to learn about how much they cost because they see reborn dolls as toys rather than pieces of art. When I was a few years younger I thought they were regular factory-made dolls that were too expensive, but of course now I know that’s not true. They’re one of a kind creations that artists spend days and weeks working on and they deserve to be paid for their hard work❤️So the pricing definitely makes sense thinking of it this way!

You did a great job Kelli. This is not an easy topic to talk about. I am an adult collector. I only have one reborn but he looks like my Son who is one of a kind to me and worth every penny. Having said that, I was new to reborns so my budget allowed me to get one for $700. He is not as detailed as many reborn dolls I see on KZbin but he is very nicely done and I think he is beautiful. He is the Noah sculpt by Reva Schick. Thank you for explaining this for those who find it confusing or out of their range. The dolls are works of art. This is why it is so lovely to see them on your channel to appreciate the work and artistry that goes into them. I am also really into American Girl dolls. Have a great night! 😉💕

I have always considered these real reborns as art because it takes a lot of hours to make them, like any other art ,I'm an artist myself and it is so much work with a drawing it can take days to make and if I want to paint a painting it will take a real long time to make it like every piece of art ,love your work and this channel 🩵

So for those who just still dont understand I’ll kinda break it down for you so imagine a peace of paper a crisp straight peace of paper, now I crumple that peace of paper now it has wrinkles and is not straight I can’t make that paper straight ever again I can make it close but it’s never going to be the same so just like a baby doll I can’t make that baby ever again exactly like it was it’s impossible just like a painting or drawing you can’t have that exact one unless I give it to you I can make one realy close to it but it will never be the same one. I hope this helped a little bit more but she explained it perfectly in the video

I have a custom FBS ‘Hannah’ sculpt (20” long and 8.5lb) by Lucia Murincekova, which cost £1800, and Lucia is currently working on my custom FBS ‘Jadyn’ sculpt (21” long and 10lb, with elbow armatures) which cost £2000. Lucia sculpts, pours, paints and roots her own babies, but all of her FBS babies are customs, so for her babies to be priced between £1500 and £2200 is truly incredible. Lucia’s babies are incredible, and the way she sculpts their bodies is more realistic than many very high end FBS.

I know what you are talking about and I feel the same way and this was very inspiring I am a young reborn collector. I am only 10, but I’ve been collecting dolls since five. I got my first reborn doll when I was five and it was not the best quality but I still have it and I have one more because that was my sister‘s first so I have three dolls in total because I just got a new reborn doll and she is super good. I got my reborns from the same person, one is the blessing awake kit by Marita winters and the other is a cuddle baby, willow by bonnie sieben. The one by marita Winters I got for free from an artist after a wildfire, (she made it for her daughter but she didnt play with it) and the other doll was a custom order I asked for, her kit was 30 dollars (sale and shes a cuddle baby) and the artist said 75dollars, for the kit and shipping and both of my reborns are quite realistic🙂 (not all good reborns are expensive)

What I’m speaking about in the video was for a typical newborn sized doll with full limbs. Obviously you can find reborn dolls at any price point, I was just giving a standard example, you seem to have a unique experience here.

I ran into this situation when I bought my silicone doll from an artist, so went on her page and started bashing her work saying that they could get the same exact doll on eBay. It was so annoying because I had already purchased the doll. They were commenting on so they could not get that dolland saying how expensive her work was and that they could find it on Temu and eBay

I've always wondered this, but if I'm wondering if I'm into/still into the hobby, would it be appropriate to buy a mass-produced reborn off of Amazon? I can't afford an expensive doll, and no matter how long I save, I still can't. When my partner and I finally have the money saved, inflation goes up, the kit is sold out, we need the money for an emergency, or the artist we like page is gone. We really want to see if we do want to start saving more for the hobby, but we want to buy a cheap mass-produced doll to see if we are even interested.
