btw as someone who has worked at a chipotle for 4 years. The empty cups is put in the bag so you can get your own drink, if you got it through a delivery app the person bringing it was suppose to fill it.

As someone who did delivery app for a few weeks, I had no idea about this. Heck, most of the bags are sealed, so if there was supposed to be a drink I was going to fill, that seems counterintuitive. The apps definitely didn’t say anything about that, although that may just be that I just never had a drink in an order?

Yeah I figured it was something like that. Whether it is a decision from HQ or it's up to the individual store, I don't like that idea (not blaming the workers). Delivery ppl are supposed to pick up and deliver; that's all they're being paid to do and that all I expect from them. Food and drink prep should 100% be done by the store.

@@LegPressWhizzer I do like the idea of not blaming the workers. There are some cases where they will slack off but you also have to be mindful who you're complaining to. I work at a movie theater and am at the food court window and some guests will complain how their food is taking forever but it's not my fault. I'm not making the food, just merely giving it to them.

I also have 3-4 times gotten an empty cup. My theory is that the person picking up the order is expected to go fill the drink at the machines but that isn't made clear when they pick it up so they just bring an empty cup.

Best option - get a burrito bowl with the tortillas on the side. They usually give me two tortillas, which is great, i get two meals from it. You can mix it all up and then fill the burrito, it'll be well proportioned.

That's not the restaurant's fault. Most restaurants that deliver through doordash or Ubereats leave it to the driver to get the drink (so it doesn't get watered down with ice or get warm/flat too soon). It's the driver's responsibility to make sure the right number of items are present.

Chipotle USA must be different from Chipotle Canada. In Canada, Chipotle has used the most advanced scientific processes to ensure that every flavorfull molecule has been removed. How they managed to make food so bland is truly a feat.

I've never been a huge Chipotle fan. I've always found that their burritos have the problem of the ingredients being really poorly mixed, like SungWon mentioned a few times. Keeping kosher with Mexican food is also hard as all fuck, because I can't eat meat and dairy together. But I could watch SungWon try food all day.

I generally like Chipotle, but often get the burrito and then eat all of it and then get wrecked later in the day or the following day, lol. 😅 Looks like they've got a busted process in regard to drinks. Putting the cup in the bag and sealing it when the order is coming from a 3rd party delivery service makes no sense. Definitely should not assume a delivery app person would open the bag to verify food and then fill a drink.

My biggest criticism of Chipotle is that when you get a burrito, the ingredients are layered and not mixed. For me mixing the ingredients inside the burrito upgrades the experience to a higher level. Getting a bowl with a tortilla on the side is a better move for sure. And of course, flavor levels of the food varies on location. Prozd, if you visit the Midwest again, Poncheros is legit and you should try it!
