This is a blast from my past. I didn't know this makeup line still existed. I'm looking forward to watching. 🦋👩🦰

It’s so interesting, these products seem so 90s or Y2K, it’s like they haven’t updated their formulas in 20 or 30 years. Other drugstore brands are innovating like crazy

A appreciate you describing the scent- I am highly sensitive to strong scents. (Interestingly enough my grandmother never used scented cosmetics).

My grandma complains about the “old lady floral overload” as she’s called it before, some of her cute elderly friends love their perfumes lol. She said it gives her a headache. As much as I love flowers, floral scents can be a bit much for me too! I doubt I’d ever buy Max Factor but it was fun seeing what products they have especially since they’re suuuch an OG brand.

I didn't even know Max Factor still existed! I'm looking forward to your next makeup history video. I love that series! 🌻

I can’t believe Max Factor still sells that stick foundation - it’s such a throwback to my youth but in the worst way possible. I once swatched it because stick foundations were unusual back than and I remember it sticking to my hand like a glue and after like 8 hours I was finaly able to get rid of it with oil based makeup remover. Nightmare. I can’t even remember one thing from them that cought my attention recently (or at least in the last 5 years). I’ve noticed that their drugstore stands in my country got smaller tho. Thanks for the video ❤ the eyeshadows look lovely and like something people that love one-and-done eyeshadows would enjoy.

70s baby here so this is hella nostalgic! Great video idea!

Maybe try the eyeshadow with either a flat synthetic brush, or the sponge applicators that everyone throws away, they are great for shimmery shadows.

I've seen this brand in drugstores in Germany for as long as I can remember 😅.

I LOVE that you did this video and that you’re interested in the history of Max Factor. I have his biography on my bookshelf and have visited his museum in Hollywood. While visiting London last year, a Max Factor spree was on my list of things to do. Unfortunately, the Max Factor section at Boots was rather paltry. I have some Panstiks also from Amazon, but was disappointed that none were carried at Boots. Was also hoping to find the cream puff makeup. Walked out with just one 2000 calorie mascara. Mine was rather wet btw. Max Factor’s last year in the US was during my first year in New York. The company seemed to be emulating MAC in many ways. Carmen Electra was the face of the brand. I loved the double ended mascaras where one would be a metallic highlight. I’d use that for metallic brows. The 80’s was my favorite decade of this brand. Jaclyn Smith was the face. Ahead of its time, one could create their own eyeshadow palette with seemingly a hundred single eyeshadow pans. Great lip and nail brand. And a good fragrance house.

It’s so funny because when I was skipping at the drugstore in Ireland, I totally wanted to pick up Mac factor items for old times. I don’t think I ever tried them when I was young but remember them being in drugstores here in the eighties and early 90’s. Honestly though none of it looked interesting. It kind of seems like they haven’t updated there formulas since leaving the US market. 😞

I think you could say vintage cosmetics smell instead of “old lady smell”. I’m 53 and I know what scent you’re talking about (I hate it), but that takes the negativity away from being an old lady (it’s awesome)

Oh I like this. I'm going to use this from now on, too.
@1015SaturdayNight7 ай бұрын
@@jennamenzies3652 right, I don’t think most people mean this in a derogatory way, they mean the vintage makeup smell that’s powdery and possibly floral. That’s really out of style and most makeup now either smells like fruit or vanilla. So it’s just a matter of trends

i never really got on with this brand, but i did llike the marbled blushes.

Hi Amy! I’m so excited! I used PanStik from the time I was 17 until it was no longer available!😢 There’s a shade 25 Fair. I always thought it odd that shade 25 was lighter than 12!🤔25 is what I use. It must not have been available on the day you looked. I sometimes mix 25 and 12. The powder I used was loose powder in Ultralucent Ultra Light. I never tried concealer or eyeshadow. I wish this had been a total success for you……But, You look lovely 😊 I can’t wait to see the history of the brand. I know Dean and Davis, (grandsons) had something to do with Smashbox. I don’t remember if they started it.

I am old enough to remember seeing MF in the drugstore but I can’t remember ever buying anything. Maybe a stick concealer/coverup? I just remember bad colour choices available. PS “old lady smell” isn’t specific and kind of offensive. Do you mean an old fashioned fragrance or traditional makeup smell? It honestly doesn’t describe anything to me. What does an old lady smell like? Please clarify. I’m sure you didn’t mean to be so cavalier in your explanation.
@AmyLovesMakeup7 ай бұрын
I think when you say old lady smell majority of people know what you mean it’s that very fragranced floral cosmetic scent. It makes me think of my grandma who I love with all my heart and I truly don’t mean any offense. ☺️

Old Hollywood makeup that was the only thing available at the time. Can’t compare it with today’s makeup because that’s how it was made…fragrance and all.
