i've seen others have troubles with the hook, it seems to work most if you hit the fish the instant it starts to leave the water.

I noticed that when you are hitting the fish, the handle of the hook ends up about half way through the fish body which means that the hook ends up on the far side of the fish body. I think you should try moving aft a little until the hook travels through the fish mouth during the swing. This would explain why you seem to have better luck hooking the fish below the water line because you are further away.

you aim for the space between the eyes and mouth and when its just about to pop its head out of the water .... its pretty simple , just went back and watched a few vids on it and it seems thats the hit box for them

Okay so for small fish the hit box is above the mouth of the fish a small amount. Otherwise the mechanic is not the same as prior games when missing meant no fish. Hope this helps.

You would think since it is a sim they would allow you to stop reeling the line to get the fish and then start reeling it in again until the next fish . I saw this 1 long haul guy who did just that because he normally had a crew of 2 people so 3 including himself and do to covid bull pockey he could not have either of them on and he siad himself that he is not as fast as his to employees at doing so .

It honestly looks like only the tip of the hook has a hitbox, and you're clipping the hook through the fish and missing from standing too close. Id try steeping back. I believe sim uk thinks the hitbox for some of the fish is bugged.

If you could buy fishing rods then you could fish on your own or you could do fishing trips to make money the first boat you buy would be great for that.

Apparently where the line goes into the water, then breaks when under the water is where you aim and hook. You seem to get better success.

Not sure how accurate this info is or not on bringing the fish in. I read somewheres that if the species of fish you are on are not in season then you can't bring them in the boat with the hook. The seasons are displayed on the fish of when is best time of the year to fish them.

I got exsact the same when fishing with line. Should have a bigger area to hit to succeed :) Early access, only thing i can say...

The saving in a habitat bug happend to me aswell, luckily i save alot and to 3 different save files, so i could just go back to another save. But there is deffently a few game breaking bugs in the current game state, so save alot people and to different save files to, it have saved me a few times.

Not fishing season. Some species have different seasons. Breeding seasons lasts for 2 to 12 weeks

The hit box for fish is very small (the mouth so I understand) I am getting a little better but yeah. It is weird because currently dont need fish on sonar just need to be in the area but you maybe recorded on an older patch. It is a pain you cannot clear inventory. Saves over all need some improvements missions in progress clothes name etc. Plus net fishing supposedly doesnt work currently,

If you aim just above the fishes mouth I have had much better success. Got all the fish from one line at one point.

Have you tried to uninstall the rigging in the shipyard to see if you can reset the lines?

No I don't think they have implemented a speed limit or ideal speed.

i wasnt able to buy any tier 2 boats. says i need a certifiate may not be in game yet or something i dont know how to advance

The certificate is that meter bar that fills up. Once you hit 150km you'll get the next certificate

Great video lad chill, down to earth and honest. Its the game bud hit box is crap. Cod seem to have the best hit box currently so target them.
