I think you should look towards the flying clan protomech squads. The Svartalfa-3 - a hells horse flying chemical laser 70-ton heavy protomech squad. They are massively fun because they wreck hell upon the enemies without being invulnerable (you actually have to use them smartly). I use them in super-heavy missions with success and a load of fun!

I'm wondering then the tonnage upgrades are coming - being able to handle higher skull content with is going to just get harder
