I had a customer at the AGCO Allis dealer I worked at in the mid nineties that would bring his M2 Combine and Grain Head in every year. I would literally crawl through that machine and replace anything that was questionable. The first year was quite a job, then every year after that was less and less stuff to do. They were able to run the whole harvest without any issues. It was worth it to them. There is a sharp 6620 down the road from me. It was shed kept its whole life, seen it sitting behind the shed the last couple years. I wonder how much they want for the old girl. You want to add another to your collection, I’ll drive it up to you. Thanks for the videos, JT.

JD - I drive a 2006 Jeep Commander with 272,000 miles on it and a 2010 GMC truck with 172,000 miles. Both occasionally break down and sometimes cost me a few bills. THEN I look at the costs of replacing them. Both are basically strong and I'd take either across country any day of the week. A couple of hundred or a couple of thousand occasionally beats payments of five to seven hundred dollars (or likely more) each month. Your combine is much the same. Basically of good stock. Many years of use. Things will wear out and break. A little aggravation and a few dollars now and then beats high monthly payments with high interest all year long. ESPECIALLY since the combine is used for such a short time each year. Hang in JT. It could be a lot worse.

I remember when the first combine arrived the farm. It was either 1978/9. It was however a major step forward from the reaper and static harvester we had been using up until then.

We bought a C2 Gleaner. Thought it was a good machine. In harvest we was broke down by 10:00. Fix it and broke down at 2:00. We changed every bearing on it. The final one was the cylinder bearing.
