I made a box for all of my diamond painting supplies from a large shoe box. I had purchased a year out of date Victorian calendar on Amazon for $1 believe it or not. I used the cover of the calendar for the top which was my focal point and created a hinge so I could keep the lid attached to the box. The calendar pages were nice and strong to line the sides and I fussy cut some of the figures. I also get a lot of cards from religious organizations and cut out flowers from the cards to add. In blank spaces I used some restaurant checks. I used Mod Podge. I enjoy using this box more than one I would have bought ready made.

@@lucy7b It is like paint by numbers but instead of paint you apply little acrylic gems to a sticky canvas that's pre-printed with all of the letters and numbers. It can be relaxing but also infuriating when you drop the little gems! Also if you don't have adequate light and workspace it can get hard on your back and eyes. 🥹

So cool and memories from the past of how it was. I love how you did those corners. I learned something new. I struggle with corners and inside corners. I am 77 and only have 2 old newspaper. But cannot rip up because I am in them when I was young. Lol. I had newspapers saved but moved four times. Each time to a smaller place. Wish I had them now. Would be great also to print out old family pictures on computer paper and do the same thing. Love your idea. You are so creative. You have a wonderful attitude when doing projects. Hi Margreth. Another beautiful project! If you want less wrinkling just put glue on the box and the underside of the paper then let it sit for 15 minutes before putting the glue on top. It will stick better and be much smoother and less sticky. In the USA Spiegel was a catalog of items for sale; similar to an upscale Sears or Montgomery Wards.

I love all the advertisements. It looks really cool. Is the Gladiator one a gentleman's corset! 😘 I have transformed a shoe box the way Ceri did it, with the top rim. It came out very dark and grungy, my structure paste skills are woeful,😅 but I love it. It sits on the table next to my chair with all the things I need to hand...pens, tissues etc I hope you get your desk cleaned. Maybe you could get a silicon mat for the messy stuff! TFS ❤

I enjoy making these too. I recently used some of my old photographs as well as art work and awards from my boys school days. They’re all grown up now and I’m trying to downsize all that stuff us moms keep. 😊 It’s a great way to remember those beautiful memories while using a box for our crafts. I also inherited their board games and I use those as well. You’re right, you can’t help thinking of those happy days long ago. Thank you for a walk down memory together. ❤

Where was this video a few weeks ago? 😂 I struggled for DAYS trying to cover a wooden box. Thankfully, I DID think to tackle the corners/edges first, but the results weren't as smooth. Those upper corners (the "opening" to the box) were literally the villains starring in my nightmares for a while. 😅 Only one thing I'd add for the bottom outside corners where you fold the extra hangy-out bit under... if you don't want the extra bulk for whatever reason, you can trim that extra bit off after folding instead of gluing it in place. Honestly, like you and cus it's on the bottom, I'd just tuck it away like you did and not bother trimming that little piece off lol. Thank you!!! Gonna have a lot of fun with much less frustration when I go to cover another box (and I have quite a few I want to transform!).

erg leuk idee om een doostedecoreren naar je eigen smaak. je kunt ook nog meerdere smalle dozen aanelkaar plakken en dandecoreren , zodat er soort vakken ontstaan. bv dozen van cornflakes of macaroni ofzo.(dan bovenkant open laten natuurlijk) wel handig hoe je de binnenkant en buitenkant hoekjes beplakt. dank je wel weer Margreth!🤗😘😊

What an amazing coincidence! I just went to the thrift store yesterday and purchased a box very similar. I actually bought 2 boxes, one I don't like the design the other was a box of envelopes and it is plain white. I think I will decoupage both of them. Thank you so much for the inspiration. I wanted mention the pronunciation of Ceri the Crafters name. It sounds like you are say Gary with a 'G'? Possibly I misheard you but if so I just thought someone should say it's Ceri with a 'C' it sounds like Cary or Kerry. I have the perfect box for this - it was a toiletry gift set so thanks for the inspiration. Ceri the crafter - he has some fab ideas. Just wanted to let you know that his name Ceri is pronounced Kerry. A lot of people can’t pronounce it correctly. He resides just a few mines from me. This is not by no means a criticism on your language. It’s a welsh name and they sound out the alphabet very different. As you say give me a Dutch to pronounce and watch you laugh at my poor attempt. I have lived in wales for over 30 plus years and still can’t read a lot of the road signs 😂 Hoover, Originally founded in Ohio in 1908, Hoover Limited became a registered company in the UK in 1919. The first factory, in Perivale in Middlesex, opened in 1932 with Hoover quickly establishing itself as the undisputed leader in the floor-cleaning market. Sorry I have been a wealth of information this morning that because I had coffee to early!Thanks for sharing ❤️
