How did it begin a windows 10 install? Was there another drive hooked up when you booted it with the SSD? Im trying to upgrade my omen, but Im updrading SSD m.2 from another SSD m.2

Hey dude! Awesome stuff, so at 02:18 in the video when I'm prepping the Computer I show how to put Windows 10 on a USB flash drive, there's a link in the description to the installation tool. It's very straight forward as shown and be sure to keep the box ticked for "Use recommended options for this PC" If your making the thumb drive on the HP Omen you plan to upgrade. :)

Thanks Richard! And absolutely! It was a budget rig to begin with there was no point adding additional ram or faster storage if the CPU and Graphics would bottleneck those gains. Haha if you must theres hours of Sims and Resident Evil streams here: www.twitch.tv/imleeloi/

Hello Lee! I'm a bit of a PC-Part noobie (as weird as it sounds if you knew I code) and I was wondering if 2133MHz is truly the speed of this ram? I really don't think its fast enough considering games I play which are heavily CPU dependent such as Fortnite. Im thinking about upgrading to 32Gb and if possible without clocking over what I bought for getting my ram to 3200MHz aswell as an SSD (which I'm not sure how to install cause I have an HP Omen 870-244 which has an i7-7700, GTX 1070 8GB, and 16 Gigs of Ram) and I'd appreciate some guidance
@ImLeeLoi4 жыл бұрын
I've never overclocked before. The ram said it did run at 2400Mhz, I think you need a different CPU and Mobo for faster ram but don't quote me on that. If your system monitor is telling you that you are using 16GB of ram while playing games then the 32GB upgrade is worth it. I can't imagine the difference between 2400MHz and 3200MHz ram being that drastic. The RAM and SSD upgrades should be similar to what I have done in my video. There is memory slots for your RAM and for your SSD.

@@alexjamesj Great idea. I must say I think I'll eventually just build a new system. The CPU on mine will always be limited to 4K so in a year or two I might just go all out. I might buy a cheap large SSD this year to move off mechanical storage altogether which currently has my game library on it.

@ImLeeLoi4 жыл бұрын
Hmmm.. Good question, the real thing to watch here is the 500W power supply so you're not putting something too powerful inside anyway. I feel like you have a fair bit of room there isn't a hard drive caddy or anything in the way. Certainly something 260mm at least... I could see it stretching to 30cm but not too sure.

@@ImLeeLoi makes sense! So I'm considering changing my psu for my omen thats in the same tower as yours. As I want a 2080 to replace my 1070. If it matters the tower came with a factory install i7 8th gen. I know the 2080 recommends a lsu of 650 or up. Do you forsee any difficulty changing the psu in this case as it seems the cable management runs under the mother board and/or do you have any psu recommendations for this case ?

so you only need ram and a ssd card to upgrade on a pc im new to this lol ?
@ImLeeLoi4 жыл бұрын
Welcome Everardo, the RAM and SSD items were what I chose to upgrade because they were quite lacking on the Computer I bought. My Computer had 8GB of RAM which is not a lot for todays games - you want at least 16GB. The Manufacturer HP put "one stick" of 8GB already into the Computer so I bought a 2nd one to make it a total of 16GB. There are still two empty slots left so maybe next year I could upgrade again to 32GB if I need it (but I don't!) The SSD was put in to make the Computer load faster. This Computer shipped with a spinning hard drive, I had a spare temporary faster hard drive but this SSD that kind of looks like the memory chip right it's called M.2 meaning it's very fast. Now if I was playing video games where they were animated slowly like the character is laggy and it's not enjoyable to play, I would need to upgrade the Graphics Card. I haven't done that yet, I'm not sure if I will I'm happy with what I have right now. :) Hope this helps you understand why I bought new RAM and SSD.

@@ImLeeLoi i have a omen 870-224 which has a i5-7400 with 8 ram and the graphics card is a gtx 1060 3gb so would doing the same as you be good ? also i subbed to your amazing channel
@ImLeeLoi4 жыл бұрын
@ Hi Everardo, Yeah I think we have the exact same Computer just inside of a different case. If you perform the same upgrades I have you're going to notice a MUCH overall faster performance. Everything from Turning on your Computer to browsing the Internet and yes, even loading Games like GTA 5 should load in faster than what you currently have. These upgrades will make your Computer feel fast and snappy. However I have not updated the Graphics Card. If there's a game you're playing where you want to turn the graphic settings up or have them move faster that would require a Graphics Card upgrade. My advice is to get started with Ram and SSD and see how you get on. You can then decide whether or not you want a new graphics card. :) Thanks for supporting the channel, I hope this helps.
