Let's Visit Kent, OH

The city of Kent, OH, not located far from Akron, OH, offers a lot from great history, great dining, and the campus of Kent State University. I check out the downtown area including the historic mill district along the Cuyahoga River. Later in the video, I visit the May 4 memorial at Kent State University.

Fun fact 14:32 this is the location that the band James Gang took their album shoot! The debut is called “Yer Album”. You can see the band posing near the arc! Joe Walsh, which is a major band member, later joined the Eagles! Really cool spot for any fan!

Great job sir!!! My grandma lived there & I was there with her the day of the KSU shooting. She lived near the campus & it sounded like a loud firecracker going off & I thought it was the 4th of July & once the news broke on the radio & tv we watched transfixed too the tube. We also later lived down by the downtown area & that big white grain mill building is where my grandma use to work before she retired. The theater use to be a movie theater because I watched some movies in that place before. This was in the 70's & the thing I remember about Kent is, it use to be a biker town & it was a bad ass town back in the day. Looking on the google map of the town today, its like night & day. I mean WOW all the new business's & such that are now up & running is off the charts because they never had those business's there when I lived in Kent. And the river footage, that place looks exactly the way I remember it. This video really brings back some great times & some sad ones due to that shooting which IMO was total nonsense. But anyways, thanks for posting this video up because it really took me back in time. Great job my man!!!

Thanks for the kind words. A lot has changed since I've been there. It was a big treat for us kids when we could go to grandma's. Since those days, grandma passed away bless her heart, & Kent has changed a lot. And Grandma took her secret recipe of home made noodles to her grave & I REALLY LOVED EM too. Ever had a day when you couldn't hit the floor with your hat? Damn! And I wanted that recipe too. lol

Great job. I lived close to the campus on May 4th. You could have shown a little more of campus besides May 4 th . It is a well layer out campus.
