The hell's the point in playing any game in VR? The only games that have a chance of working are open world games where you have complete freedom. Not games like this that you can miss essential stuff because you were staring at the sun or something

Zupahmann I know that's the idea, but even in a first person game you still have that element of staring somewhere where you shouldn't have while something important is going on. Just look at cinema - a lot of the good directors find it very important to focus on specific details or at a certain angle and that's very important for a movie so if you believe that a game can be as good in its story as a movie or a TV show you should also be able to understand the importance of fixed perspective. With VR you lose that.

It's to prevent motion sickness, I imagine. I have yet to see a game where you have full motion control in first person that doesn't make you go mad ill. Then again, I think what most are complaining about here is how pointless the VR is here in third person where it shouldn't be in the first place.

you dont need Vr to be immersed, plenty of games are so well crafted, they immerse you without any vr and you forget everything but the world and story your experiencing.

first person VR can cause motion sickness when the character moves but the player doesn't. third person helps to mitigate that. also, not all games work well in first person.

I played a few VR demos that used controllers for movement and it was fine. Even the one where you would run around, jump off cliffs and fly didn't make me motion sick, yet I can barely text when in a car/bus/train without feeling nauseous.

VR won't sell great numbers for a long while anyway. I love that devs are experimenting with this third person style. After seeing so many first person vr demos I always started to think what would it be like in third person. And here it is. And I think it actually works really well. People always hate on what isn't what they think something should be and never think of the creativity that can be done with things.
