Here's a couple of mods you may want to do after 35s: steering stabilizer flip, evap canister relocation, longer brake lines, spring correction wedges, extend diff breather hoses and longer swaybar end links (front & back) with quick disconnect. I would personally get rid of those geometry correction brackets and just get lower control arms instead. The brackets will get hung up and are kinda annoying. Ask me how I know. Grade 8 bolt kit is kinda important too. It prevents death wobble. Most of the things I mentioned are pretty cheap, aside from the lower control arms. Just a couple of suggestions. Love the channel even more now that there's a Jeep in it. Have fun, Strad!

If you're going to go above 35s you're likely going to want to regear the axles. the larger the tire the taller the gears youre going to have which hurts gas mileage, makes your car feel very sluggish on road, and take away the ability to just crawl over obstacles offroad. I would also recommend you keep your tire size small. For durability and grip, it would be ideal to stay under a 17" wheel because then you can air down without risk of bending a rim. Next mod after that I would recommend you get a winch and bumper since being able to recover yourself is ideal when going alone. Most importantly, get out there and use it. So many people wait to fully build their jeeps before itll even touch dirt. In reality, you should use it and decide on your own what you should get for mods based on what you feel youre lacking

This is the exact kit that I have. I put this kit on myself too. I installed mine in a day and a half. I've had this kit for 3 years and it really softens up. You will float over all the bumps. I will recommend onboard air or Viair 450P or better air compressor. You'll need to lower the air pressure when you're off road. Washboard roads will be a thing of the past. Love your channel.

If you're going up to 35s I'd suggest getting 4.56 or 4.88 gears and since it's a Sahara you could do locking differentials at the same time. Other than that maybe flat fenders or bumpers for looks and a Warn winch.

Just got 33s for my 2016 jku. Love them and I'll be looking at a 2.5 inch in the next few months. If I were you the next thing I would do (besides wheels and tires) would be take off the mud flaps and consider taking off the running boards and add sliders or just anything that isn't plastic. Can't wait to see what you do next.

Good choice with the AEV kit. I personally run a 3.5" kit on my 2 door rubicon with 35s. It gets me everywhere I want to go (could fit 37s but drive too much on the highway and 35s are good enough for a daily driver). The geometry correction of the AEV kit makes the jeep handle great on the highway.

Same Jeep and color, also going with an overland build on this one! Matter fact just picked up some limb risers from smittybilt. Be sure to check the drive shaft boots connecting at the transfer case, the lift might pinch the boot and tear it flinging grease everywhere. Terraflex sells Rzeppa High Angle Factory replacement which will take care of it for less than $150 if you don't want to spend $400 on new driveshaft (tomwoods is a good brand if you do) Also on my 07 2 door, I ran 37s with stock gears which wasn't too horrible but you'll want a gear change although it isn't immediately necessary. The only problem with 35s is when you park next to someone with 37s or 40s, envy will begin to run through your veins lmao

Go with the led lights and backup camera with the Pac brand module. I did mine for about a hundred dollar and the module includes video unlock. This module include vga input so a lot of possibilities by adding it, from adding Google chromecast 1st generation (2nd generation crashes all the time) to watch internet videos, Netflix etc... Also connect headrest monitors and for $68 extra you expand your Pac module with the Pac VS41 to add multiple cameras. Pretty cool I think. Tons of videos of how to setup Chromecast. Installation is easy but setup is a pain but once you set it up no more headache and start enjoying videos.

Go with the 35's. We just did the same mod to my buddies Wrangler 2 weekends ago and it runs and drives great with 35's. You are at a higher elevation but it really shouldn't effect power that much. Worst case is you will need to gear down a bit. Look at it this way. If you plan to go offroad you are going to want to do some type of locker in at LEAST the rearend which means you're going to be into the axle anyway. From there I would buy recovery equipment to get yourself out of trouble. A highlift jack, straps and some maxtrax recovery boards. Once you have that you'll be in good shape to get in the dirt.

I got my wrangler on 33/12.5 General Grabber X3's. wicked aggressive looking but not noisy. I wouldn't recommend 35's for daily. Makes the steering and feel of the car way different and you begin to lose power. Not to mention your driveshaft hangs at a very steep angle. I would say get wheels / tires or some new aggressive bumpers for armor and a badass look. I've had my JK for 3 years now and she's a money pit for sure. ✋🏻

You only have a 2.5 inch lift. 35's will rub when turning sharp and kill your MPG. I suggest 33's, and your next mod should be the front bumper or wheels!
@SheRideUS7 жыл бұрын
35' will only rub the plastic under the bumper. Just cut one inch and you're good or remove the plastic cover. That doesn't protect the parts from water or salt so get rid of it. If extreme off-road is something you consider its gonna rub with the fenders for sure. Just buy a body lift to add a bit more space.

CJ White Sports are the worst wrangler. The Rubicon is the top dog. It has the luxury options of the Sahara, but 10 times the off-road capability due to the diff locks, Dana 44 rear axle, and the Dana 44 gearing in a Dana 30 front axle.
@anthonymartin90296 жыл бұрын
Rubicons are unnecessary if you're gonna do your own upgrades. They were made because jeep figured if people are going to make hardcore off roaders out of them they should pay jeep for it instead of 3rd party companies. Sports are where it's at because you're not paying for extra jeep that you're going to change anyway. And the Sahara are called the pavement princess for a reason. The gear ratio is meant for high speed on commercial roads. You want an off road jeep, buy a sport and do it yourself.

I'm a little behind on your videos so be prepared for me to catch up and comment a lot. Next mods should be some Flat Fender Flares for that old school Jeep look as well as the increased wheel well clearance for larger tires, Front and Rear Bumpers, Rock Sliders, and a 33-35 inch tires. I recommend the Nitto Ridge Grappler, I run them in a 285/75R17 which is equal to 34x11.5 roughly. Nice jeep otherwise. Wish I would had gotten white, they hide the Rocky Mountain Pinstripes a lot better due to Jeep using white primer.
@Stuntman23047 жыл бұрын
As a Jeep owner of nearly 5 years. I've owned two different Jeep Wrangler TJs. A 1999 and my current a 2004. My 1999 was nearly stock and my 2004 is HEAVILY and I mean heavily modified. 4.5 inch lift, 35 inch tires, rims, bumpers, winch, lights, front ends rebuilt, axles regeared, drivetrain beefed up, T-Case beefed up, SYE joints, etc etc. I've also owned a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with a 5.7 Liter V8 HEMI motor. I've been doing the Jeep thing most of my life and I will say. The top ten most important Jeep modifications are as follows FOR WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT DOING. (These modifications may not apply to everyone's plans or off road desires) However Anyone who actually off roads, Jeeps, or has any mechanical knowledge past changing their own oil or a flat tire will agree with some if not all of these. 1.) The lift kit. This should suit your needs if you aren't planning on rock bouncing, crawling, or going onto advanced trails you don't need a massive lift kit and vise versa. Stay away from cheap stuff. Rough country is the cheapest bang for your buck lift kit I would suggest. Obviously you're past this step and you made a very wise decision. So we will check number one of your list. 2.) Tires and rims. You need to get a tire that suits your needs. If you aren't mudding or rock bouncing you don't need 35-44 inch mud terrains. 33 inch all terrains or even mud terrains will be sufficient. Rims are never something to skimp on either be careful. Chinese knockoffs will break on the trail or on the road and leave you stranded. Also be weary of doing a spare tire delete. If you plan on running larger tires get a spare tire mount that pivots off your bumper which leads me to mod or upgrade. Number 3 Bumpers. You want to get bumpers that have solid attachment points on the front and back. This will help incase you are ever stuck. Bumpers also help prevent damage to your vehicle. Depending on your budget and your price range I recommend JCR bumpers. They are made from thick and I mean super thick steel plates and the welds on them are impeccable. If you aren't spending 350-800 on a bumper it's probably junk. On your front bumper you want to get something a winch can mount to. A winch isn't usually a necessity unless you plan on doing some hardcore off roading but having the option to add one is always a great thing. Number 4. Now that you're Jeep is on bigger tires, a lift kit, nice rims, and has nice bumpers. You want to dive into some more in depth modifications. The next modification I would suggest for your 4 door Sahara is an exhaust. Headers back. You will gain some decent power and combining this with a K&N or any other model cold air intake you will find some top end power to help move your Jeep that you just weighed down with 5 bigger, heavier tires, and two massive bumpers. It won't be a massive difference but it is definitely noticeable. However these mods are not absolutely necessary they can be useful. Number 5 Normally I would start talking about beefing up your drive train or regearing your axles but since you just want this to be an overland vehicle and not a hardcore off roading monster. I will replace this step with LIGHTS. A 50 inch light bar, light pods, better headlights and taillights, rear light pods for reversing, rock lights (or fender well lights) and a good switch panel of your choice are great for overlanding. You can light up a trail or camp-sight at night. I would suggest an A-Pillar switch panel and you can buy switch covers with pre made labels on them for all your different lighting needs. Make sure the wiring is done correctly. The last thing you want is a Jeep going up in a big ball of fire. Number 5 part two. I suggest getting the highest cold cranking amp battery you can buy. A 2-300 dollar optima battery and an upgraded alternator. Running this many lights will strain a tiny little battery and with a bigger battery you need a stronger more powerful alternator. This all depends on how crazy you go with lighting. Number 6. This step can be useful for overlanding more so than hard core off roading but can be changed to suit either application. Body armor is a plus for hardcore off roading but not necessarily needed for overlanding however metal fender flares are nice for those pesky tree branches that like to destroy plastic fender flares. Been there, done that. Not fun. Number 7. Oil pan, transfer case, and gas tank, and axle cover skid plates. Overlanding, or hard core off roading. You will not regret it. Number 8. You may want to think about getting the front end beefed up. You don't want to destroy the front end from some tree stump or rock. Just trust me. It's worth it. Number 9. This step can be omitted and it's more of a personal preference step. CB radio, new head unit(stereo), interior modifications like quadratech floor mats, and seat covers and such are always a plus to help keep your interior clean and up to date. Number 9 alternative. For overlanding a roof rack that can stay on while your top comes off is always a plus. Being able to free up what little space even a four door Jeep has inside of it with four people per say and camping gear is a must. Not only for safety's sake but also for comfort. And last but not least number 10. A good solid heavy duty and well built, not plastic set of side steps is a must. Any sort of trail riding or off roading or over landing poses a risk for your side steps to be cracked, dented or torn off. Any sort of damage to these could hide underlying frame damage. I hope this helps. Obviously if you were building an off road machine I would change these around and add some things and take away some things but for overlanding like you've described in this video these steps should suit your needs well.

Did you know you’d have a Bugatti and 3 lambos in 4 years when you made this video? Keep going!

She's looking great, man. I'm sure she feels far better planted. Just wait until you're out in the bush. By the way, for virtually puncture immune tires, I would STRONGLY suggest either BFG's or Coopers only. Seriously. No other tires even compare.

Just an idea to save you from possible headache. Have your wheel alignment checked before you put on new wheels. Changing shocks, springs and wheels on one of my former cars cost me a new set of front tires after less than 3000 miles.

With 35s on a 2 1/2" lift, you might have some rubbing problems off-road, especially if you're bringing camping gear. My suggestion is to get some 1" spacers. You'll have the same articulation as your 2 1/2" lift currently but you'll have a little extra room in the wheel well which can be pretty helpful even if the trail isn't very severe.

As a jeeper myself, do suspension/steering upgrades first then wheels/tires and regear then all the cool bumpers light etc.

New wheels with 35s, auxiliary light bars and a roof rack to put more cargo. Also custom grille with road armor bumpers would look cool with the stock paint.

You need to add Kleinn air horns on the Jeep. They bolt up under the body. I added one and it's awesome for distracted drivers.... LOL

stay with the AEV products. everything they make is the best of the best. bfg ko2 is a great AT tire. For a UT resident like yourself look at the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac as well. Ive heard its killer in the snow.

When I first did the lift on my K5 (3") I fell on my ass the first time I got out of it. That was a good lesson for when I did the 10" suspension with 40" Swampers
