I hear you - I used to as well. It takes time to get away from it, but once you do, your friends will notice a difference. Don't be surprised if their relationship with you changes. Better to please God than man. God will either work on their hearts, or He will bring you new and better friends. Typically, friends are for a season, but life-long friends that stick closer than a brother, God brings our way in His timing. May God honor your humility of admitting your struggle. This is a topic I think about. Quite a lot. Because I’m funny 🤷🏼‍♂️….so, now, the crude joking - I do that! I’m guilty, and I try very hard to be cognizant of this so as to not offend people. But to be honest, the crude joking is really silly and JMO, it can be edifying under the right circumstance, in building friendships, which can transcend. God can do it. Praise Him🙏🏼❤️. It’s going on in my life right now. A very slow and interesting journey with a friend who is now so dear to me.

So I’m in my early 20’s, and even though I don’t curse or partake in foolish talking, a lot of the things that I watch do. Would you consider watching crude shows sinful ? I dedicate a lot of my online time to listening to the word, but sometimes I want to watch other things too you know? But it’s hard to find clean-adult things.

Hey Elias I’m literally going through the same thing, Just turned 23, I’ve been open to trying out stuff that are clean but really I love come to see unless it so hard to find God in Hollywood. Here’s what I started with though, I have live channels : secrets unsealed, amazing facts I play them to have something playing sometimes just for noise but with time I really got interested in what they teach. I searched more of their videos and find them so good. Sometimes it’s true I’d want to watch other stuff so I found Christian movies on KZbin, there’s a channel called Christian movies it’s good especially with the old movies like pamelas prayer, the letter etc. but I’m not comfortable with the ones that teach about death because I don’t find it in scriptures like that. Otherwise there’s good Christian stuff but research more.

I think as you grow as a Christian and the Holy Spirit begins to work in you the jokes become less and less funny until you don't laugh anymore at those kinds of jokes. For the second one maybe ask a trusted Christian friend of member of Church. Hope this helps!

Crude jokes aren’t necessarily funny videos… as a rule of thumb, I would say funny videos are fine, so long as they are not degrading and profane. You may hear a swear word in a genuinely clever/funny video and disregard the swear word. However, if the funny video is comedy consisting of raunchiness or sexual jokes, I would refrain from those… Over time, the more you walk with the Spirit, He will give you discernment and a sensitivity to what is genuinely funny and what God sees as crude. Proverbs 24:16 is not talking about falling into sin. Context is verse 15, the wicked persecute the righteous. 1 John 1:8-10 is also talking to unrepentant sinners who say they have not sinned. Read the verses before. To have fellowship with God and His people, one must be walking in the light, not willfully sinning. The Holy Bible speaks against crude humor. Granted, to the flesh it is hilarious, but it's the flesh that's supposed to be crucified. I know a lot of off color jokes I learned in the past in the Army, at work, from my dad and friends etc. But I won't tell them anymore because they offend the Spirit of God who lives in me. Although it's very difficult for me not to chime in on threads or on chats and try to be funny in my own creative way. It think that's different but it's still not edifying and by me doing it I feel convicted even though people think it's hilarious. It's a fine line. Just follow your convictions.
