Morse uses timing to separate characters and words so they don’t run together. The space between elements of the same character is the same length as a dot. Between characters in a word it’s the length of 3 dots (one dash). Between words it’s 7 dots. You could say Morse has 5 “phonemes” distinguished by both the presence or absence of a signal and length: 2 marks {dot and dash) and 3 spaces (intra character, inter character, and word).

If you disregard one dot silence between letters and one dash between words then there are these problems, however Morse isn't a written language. And there are 3 symbols in morse if you so think about it, as silence is a symbol itself.

I believe Morse Code doesn't work like that. There's a small pause after each alphabet and a a little longer pause for space.

Logographic doesn't necessarily mean you need to make new characters for every idea. You can just use combinations of characters in parts called Radicals. 女 Néui (Woman) 馬 Màh (Horse) 媽 Idea(Woman) + Sound(Màh) 媽媽 MàhMá (Mother)
