Lethal Enforcers (SNES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Konami's 1993 Super NES port of the classic light-gun shooter arcade game, Lethal Enforcers.
Played through on the normal difficulty level.
This is a great port. It's a bit less fluid than the Sega Genesis and CD versions, but all three are great renditions of a fantastic genre pillar. If I had to choose between the three, I'd have to give the SNES version the nod because of the graphic and sound quality. This soundtack makes the SNES chip sing in a way that modern-day synth has long forgotten - but it sounds fantastic. It's very similar in sound quality and in the samples used to Konami's other SNES greats like Sunset Rider's and Turtles in Time: is there really higher praise than that? Of course it doesn't compare to the PS1 port, but that would hardly be a fair comparison.
This is also the version I played the most as a kid, so be warned that my opinion is very liked biased by nostalgia!
Just a note if you've seen my previous video of this version of the game: this is a new playthrough to recorded using a Wii-mote to mimic the Justifier. Doing this not only removes the distracting targeting crosshair from the screen, but it also makes the game much easier to play and as a result, my playing is much better (and hopefully more entertaining since I die way less and can time my shots far better!).

I just noticed - the 2nd level "Chinatown Assault" was given the PC name "Downtown Assault" in this version.

You missed me pig I believe was censored in all versions of the game, except maybe the PS1 version. Watching NintendoComplete's Genesis playthrough, the You missed me line never is spoken. Eat lead copper was also shortened to Eat lead in all but the PS1 version.

And "The Drug Dealers" was changed to "The Gunrunners," because apparently according to Nintendo, guns are ok but drugs aren't.

“You missed me, pig” was NOT in the American US release of the arcade or home versions of the game. That was ONLY on the overseas versions. And much of Nintendo’s logic for censorship at that time can be traced back to the Atari crash, and the then lack of a universal ratings board like the ESRB. Once the latter got in, the only things that got cut out of the games were the more extreme stuff, and even that subsided after a point.

I remember there was 3rd party revolver light gun sold for this game for the SNES, it was bright blue and pink... or was it the Arcade guns? my memory don't serve me right anymore

Hanferd That was the Justifier, Konami's official gun for it (the SuperScope didn't work with LE). The blue one came with the game and you had to send off for the pink second player gun.

Turn your gun away from the screen, don't let any part of the barrel be pointing in front of the TV then pull the trigger once your aiming your gun off screen

When I got my copy of it as a kid it was sadly used and didn’t come with the Justifier or the original box. This was a great arcade to home port, but damn the censorship really butchered it.

They hardly touched the game honestly. It’s not like entire scenes and story was cut out of the game because of it. My guess for the lack of death animations aside from censorship is that it also freed up memory. I suspect SNES visuals and audio took up more memory than I think many people realized. It would also explain the video cutscenes between missions.
