Hey Petu, i am actually a jungle Shen one trick. i recommend PTA or Guardian. anything else is either too situational, too risky, or doesn't scale well. you win a surprising amount of early skirmishes, and have nobody to contest your ultimate usage. standard shen builds do well, especially Iceborn Gauntlet, but I try Divine Sunderer or Radiant occasionally with decent success. Edit: CDR boots feels similar in clear to Bami's ever since the monster damage on Bami's was nerfed. the old demonfire build also used to be blessed. RIP in pepsi.

It's so insanely comforting to watch Petu play jungle Shen and make a lot of the decisions and early item pathing as me, because I became a jungle shen main this season and am trying new stuff out all the time. Makes me feel like I'm doing something right even if I still need to get better. :') Been testing the statikk shiv but that's probably getting gutted soon, probably going back to bamis into riftmaker, but I also have the rune struggle. With shiv I was trying Fleet Footwork

Most lesser runes kinda suck tbh, for a while I've thought it would both raise the skill ceiling and just be more fun if it was just 1 interchangeable rune wheel where you could allocate any combination from any tree. At least an average player could theory craft a little more on their champion

Daisy just hates ninjas almost as much as opossums. I've been playing Shen Jungle a lot in low ELO, and I've found it is always better to start in the enemy jungle if you can do so undetected. If you are detected, you have a good chance of securing first blood leading the invade, and if you're not, you greatly increase the amount of time you can maintain level parity with the enemy jungler. Both outcomes offset Shen's slow clear speed without limiting his other options much in the early game. Shen also doesn't do the first quadrant any slower than most of the pack, so it's possible to 3-camp and look for value in 2 ganks before 3:15 against junglers that full-clear who you can't invade. With zero early gank options, you can still match timing for a counter-gank by skipping blue buff for 5-camps. Phase Rush and water walking is exceptional for more lane presence early, and Lethal tempo greatly expands the pool of enemy champions Shen can challenge by himself.

I know It may sound a bit troll, but I'm really onto Shen's utility potential, and nearly every match I play with Sealed Spellbook I have won, because it unlocks even more utility. The early game normally feels pretty strong to me,but I would like to hear the Shensei's opinion.

@@TimboSIice still testing but phase rush with nimbus cloak celerity waterwalking and secondary runes of taste of blood and ultimate hunter seem to be a strong choice. i honestly find that sunfire cape might not be necessary and have even tried going deadmans second item

I've never liked heartsteal shen. If you delay your heartsteal at all then you don't get as much value. But if you don't build some kind of waveclear first then you aren't capable of setting up your lane to ult away. It's a lose lose situation.

Whenever im versing a morde, i go the forbidden sunderer, thornmail botrk build. Pretty much every other game its iceborn. The chase potential is so good as well as making it easier to get empowered qs olwhile dueling.

Hear me out, what if you went lethal tempo, triump (since the atspd will give you energy back, lifesteal, and coup de grace. Secondary relentless and one of the ward runes because they give ultra much value. Then for build you can do bami's and the atkspd from botk. Then complete frost and botk. Thenn you get either titanic first (stompy time) or ignore pain/wits end first (stomped time). Then you can build anathema, or gargoyle, or visage, or thornmail. A direct alternative would be grasp - relentless. Eclipse, botk, shyreldas ( the slow pen ad item) Visage, titanic. Alwas cd boots, or out of speed mov(depending on your team) and an ultra spicy gem. Is AXIOM ARC. (This only because we prioritize jungle global babysit relentless shen) Tell me your opinion man!!! Grasp Heartsteel, titanic is the highest dmg for me but i can rarely pull it off because of weak early.

botrk is probably better against stuff like sion or chogath, champions that stack health and build heartsteel, the croc isn't really a tank, he falls off late and ksante just has a million resitances so botrk isn't that great since it's physical damage heartsteel on shen can work well only if you get a couple of kills early to rush it, since then you don't mind missing the resistances until you get merc/tabi boots and a second item, and with it's "fighting means scaling" it's generally a "win more" snowball item, since when you're behind you have to be more mindful of fighting heartsteel also an item that's completely countered by stuff like botrk or vayne, so it's a situational item on top of being a "win more" item but in the right circumstances, you can go bamis->heartsteel->boots->sunfire->null mantle if they have scary ap and you didn't get merctreds-> titanic to cash out on your health stacking with lots of damage it's very situational but it's good for snowballing and doing damage

As far as ive played. heartsteel shen is better for arams where the fights are more scrappy and less map control oriented. So i agree that something like iceborn or radiant virtue can give more value in a regular game. Though i will say and correct me if im wrong, but shens E and R both scale with HP, so in theory, it's a decent item on him in that regard
