Something great about Whipple besides the incredible power gains is the way Whipple approaches supercharger cooling. Heat is the bane of superchargers and Whipple has been a leader in mitigating the detrimental effects of supercharger heat.

Has anyone asked whipple why they developed the 3.8 for the gt500 as opposed to the 3.0?

The GT500 engine has better flowing heads/cams than the GT. So the larger blower can support the airflow better than the 3.0L. Similar to when the 13-14 GT500 came out it was eventually figured out that the same 2.9L that was used on the 07-12 models simply didn't provide enough air for what the new 13-14 head/cams can handle. So they chose to go with a larger head unit or the higher flowing more efficient designed 3.0L over the older 2.9L.

Most of the blower parts are made right there in Fresno. However the manifolds which are cast at foundries are made offsite with Whipple's designs to their specs.
