Thanks for your comments. Letourneau has been a hero of mine since I learned who he was. So far the scraper has been a fun project. I feel super lucky that the scraper has come to me. I have made a bit of headway with the electrical so far. Spoiler alert, I got the big DC contact switches to operate from the cab. I will keep you up to date.

Yes, all smoke and no fire, lol. But as far as toys go, it's pretty cool.

Yo're STILL wound tight as an 8-day clock I bet and NOW you have a 6-71 to go with the 4, even though it's the faster of the two. The old 'D'-pull I smoked over had no cab and was scary enough for me and I was pretty much a kid when that happened. Now with doing it all my life it's even scarier that it was then but I got stuck running stuff that was probably as comparable. So have at it and I'll be watching and cheering you on! Blessings, Buddy!

Lol, wound tight as a 8 day clock. Thats hilarious. I love that saying. If that truck had wings it would fly its so fast. Well at least that's how it felt hanging out of the cab filming the bird nest blast out of the smoke stack.

@@PJTVenturesInc. The 1st day I drove the old GMC with the 6-71 and the 4x4 I burned around 70-something gallons of fuel but I hauled steady all day and a bunch of loads on steep places. Faked them out but they never said a word when they saw all the grevel tickets. Had to keep it HAMMERED to get anywhere. Loaded 21 or 22 tons. Burned all the soot out of it if there was any.

So it's running other than currently not working?

You are correct, CURRENT-LY it is not producing electricity. Which is strange because it was parked on a Current bush all this time, lol. Groan....
