@@cyrus72707 I have the vague suspect that they see trading as a form of social interaction... ever noticed that when they give stuff to you they push their arms forward? That's more or less the same position the character swims in... basically, she's offering them stuff without even knowing it :)

11:29 and there's a couple of things Z, the behaviour of the Sea Monkeys changes when you pick up Alan, they now bring you stuff, which is why that one you slashed dropped copper ore, it was bringing you that copper ore. maybe read some of the notes? When investigating those narrow, twisting, confusing cave systems, such as you are at that point, the pathfinder tool is damned handy, and the mapping tool on the seaglide can be too, because it shows the area around you, revealing passages you easily miss otherwise. Also, not a bad place to use the air pump and tubes system, though that can be a bit...iffy to connect sometimes, it works perfectly for such areas.

Best part of using the scanner battery trick is now using the Recyclotron later to get free batteries too make power cells, really helps with ion bats and cells later in the game as well.
