Yo I feel you che'lu my grandma is from barrigada and my great grandmother is alive in hagatna 86 years old I see her every other year or so I want nothing more than to be connected to my chamoru roots 🤙🏽

Being born in Guam and having to leave at a young age because of my father joining the military kind of hurts because I never got to experience the life on Guam and learn the language or history. I felt like an outcast when my parent would speak Chamorro and I wouldn’t be able to understand them, so I would just sit there and listen even tho I didn’t know what they were saying.

I'm sorry to say , your parents should have been speaking and teaching you Chamorro , since you were born . Kids can learn two languages at the same time , just as easily as one .

Hello thank you for the lessons I am part chamorro my grandmother is from barrigada my great grandmother Is Jovita Ferjerang she is still in guam and alive and well at 84 I call her regularly but I've always wanted to be able to speak to my family in guam in chamorro so I I very thankful for these lessons

I thought Indonesian and Tagalog are the closest but the composition of the sentences in chamorro is closer to tagalog
