In this New Series I'll be playing my favorite match of each year from 1993-2023 omitting 2024 which I played at the end of last year. In the description I'll tell you what matfh im playing and what really happened in that match. The American professional wrestling promotion WWE has been broadcasting pay-per-view (PPV) events since the 1980s, when its classic "Big Four" events (Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series) were first established-the company's very first PPV was WrestleMania in 1985. The company's PPV lineup expanded to a monthly basis in the mid-1990s following the introduction of the In Your House series of pay-per views before expanding even further in the mid-2000s during the first WWE brand extension. In addition, WWE produced international PPVs not available in the United States between 1997 and 2003. In 2022, the company began recognizing Money in the Bank as one of their five biggest events of the year, thus making it a "Big Five" event along with the classic "Big Four"; King of the Ring was considered a "Big Five" event from 1993 until 2002, after which, it was discontinued as a PPV until 2024.
Next is 1994. The match I'm playing is The Tag Team Championship match at The Royal Rumble between The Quebecers and the Hart Foundation.
The match started slowly, but both teams soon began brawling in the ring.[14] The Harts focused on Pierre, but Jacques was eventually able to tag in to rescue him.[14] After Pierre regained the advantage, Owen tagged in and took control of the match.[14] He applied the Sharpshooter to Jacques, but Pierre broke the hold.[14] Bret tagged in but fell out of the ring and kayfabe hurt his knee when the Quebecers' manager pulled on the ropes.[14] The Quebecers focused on Bret's knee until Bret regained the advantage and attempted to apply the Sharpshooter. He was not able to stand, however, so the referee stopped the match and awarded the victory to the Quebecers.[28] After the match, Owen yelled at Bret for not tagging out of the match. He then turned on Bret by kicking his injured leg and leaving him lying in the ring.[29] This left fans wondering if Bret Hart would even make the Royal Rumble match itself.
