Fortunately, the only thing you're missing out on by not knowing League of Legends is the occasional easter egg, but this show is pretty much a brand new story. The gameplay experience in League actually has no story whatsoever (think of it like Super Smash Bros, where a huge cast of characters are fighting each other), and Arcane only loosely follows the lore/backstory of the show's characters. You'll learn way more about the characters in the show just from watching one episode than you ever could from playing League of legends, even if you had played it for a decade.

I was on Netflix getting ready to watch a movie on group chat with a friend. In the Netflix promotions the Arcane thumbnail popped up. He wasn't quite ready yet, so I decided to watch the first few minutes. I hadn't played League in about five years, and went into it expected something like the Castlevania anime: charming and beautifully animated, but sloppily written and a bit of a mess. After our movie was over, I stayed up until 5am on a weeknight binging the whole series. By episode three my skepticism was turned inside out. By the end there was a knee-deep crater in my room where my jaw kept hitting the floor.

I also haven't played League of Legends, I just know it exists. The plot is interesting, the visuals are immaculate. I lowkey gave myself a lil headache binge watching the whole season in one day🙈 More about the topside and undercity is revealed overtime in a way that satiates your understand for season one yet there's way more to know which I hope will be revealed in following seasons

What’s crazy is that they could’ve taught Powder how to use a knife or some kind of tool and use her size to her advantage (move faster) instead of expecting to throw her tiny hands.

You don't need to know anything about the game to understand what's going on. It's written assuming you know have no prior knowledge. In fact, the experience is probably better if you don't know how certain characters end up in the game.
