While I’ve only taken mine out once for a small afternoon session, I must say, I am truly impressed by this reel! For a reel that comes in at only 5oz, it is remarkable and capable. The size suggests that it would be more of a finesse type reel but this thing can handle anything you throw at it! Bates really hit the nail on the head with attention to detail! It won’t be for everyone and some may not see the value in it but it’s something that those of us who appreciate high quality workmanship will make great use of and find a lot of enjoyment using!
