Do you use anything to help you walk and have you ever felt embarrassed about it? xx

I recently have gotten diagnosed with fibromyalgia and have been using a cane for the last 2 weeks while I sought the diagnosis and now after having it. This really helped me. I'm really scared of not having the things I need or having limited time at certain events due to the pain, but I am so worried about what the people around me will think since it's "just fibromyalgia" but yeah. Thanks, this really meant a lot.

I’m so glad this video helped you, at the end of the day if a cane or whatever helps who cares what others think if they stare just smile shake it off. You are fighting things they cannot imagine so keep your head up and keep fighting you got this! Oh and I find having a patterned or cool looking cane helps a lot xx

Thank you Beverley! I am glad I found your channel today. I needed to see this. I have been contemplating whether I should start using a cane and have been struggling with making the decision.

I absolutely would not be able to cope without my wheelchair, stick and walker. The other day I pushed my empty wheelchair for a while before going in it which I got loads of looks for!!!

Great video! I have a rollator walker. It's a life saver! I never realized how just much I struggled before it. I can now go shopping without being completely destroyed.

I might be getting a cane soon! I'm not technically diagnosed with anything, but I have chronic pain. A bit nervous about the whole gym class thing (I'm in high school and they're going to try to make me run the mile no matter what, since they're strict on the whole doctor's note thing, so I'm either going to fail or have to run the mile if it kills me), but I'm excited to have some extra support while I walk!

I’m glad you are getting a cane they help so much! I’m sorry your school isn’t supportive all you can do is your best and just try to look after yourself the best you can. Let me know how it goes xx

@@BeverleyButterfly Thanks for replying, my mom helped me get one (it's got flowers and it glows in the dark)!! She was also able to call the school and have the class pushed to the end of the year so I can get an appointment! It's so much easier to walk and I'm so happy my mom supports me so much. :)

Kayla oh I’m so glad you managed to move the class that’s wonderful! That cane sounds so cool I have a white one with flowers on, and a black one with purple and pink swirls but neither glow in the dark that sounds so wicked!

Anonymous I have POTS but was only recently diagnosed. They made me do the pacer test in middle school and it was awful. I blacked out every time. Shame on school for doing this to kids with disabilities.

I sometimes walk around the house pushing my chair. It gives me balance lol. I cant furniture walk any longer. I'm using a chair at home more and more from being a Walker at the age of 2 1/2. My family struggle with this immensely. My mental health impacts on my physical health

I think it’s amazing how we have so much choice in aids now and how they help us to keep our independence it’s so important and I really wish we would all have a better understanding and love for the things that help us from the start that’s why I made this video I hope it helps

Strangers are just rude lol. It's no one elses business lol. I've always used them in one form or another. What was the diagnosis from the hospital?
