Honestly, it was never mostly about the game that I felt nostalgic about. It was about those moments I had ever since I started the wotb journey, as a little kid just driving around and having fun to entering training battles and meeting new people who are now old friends, and of course fantasising about my first tier 10 while staying up till morning just to platoon with a pal. And as I played more and more, everything changed, from the game to the people heck even myself. Soon, it was just me and my garage filled with tanks hopping in for one last battle before logging off to a mostly offline friend and clan list. It was fun.

I’ve played since V1.4 and seen all the changes and trust me there was never a golden age of blitz, back in the day no one knew what they where doing and there was no YT channels to help out so we just had fun, update 5.5, the introduction of win rate to your Home Screen, the spare parts saga and the gambling crates have played a part in changing players perception and expectations of the game. Nostalgia is great but it doesn’t mean things where better because they weren’t, the game was so simple no camos, replays or fun modes, only 4 nations and fewer maps, graphical it was terrible but back then we felt we where growing with the game, now the game is just a monster that consumes our time and money

I've been playing blitz since basically day 1, and this is spot on. People have been complaining about Blitz since the beginning. There are no new complaints except update 5.5. People don't complain because the game is being ruined. They complain because they want to ruin it for everyone else because they're mad at WG. Blitz is definitely different than it was back then, and there are things I miss about it then. But there are also a lot of things I would miss from today if the game went back to how it was in 2014. The complaints mean nothing except that people are mad, and the grass is always greener on the other side.

Why everyone gravitates to the past is possibly remembered by the feeling of wonder, exploration, discovery of new things, and excitement of earning a new reward. We miss that first experience, and the excitement of what we could work our way to, because it gave us a sense of achievement and this is ruined and unobtainable once you get everything or buy a bunch of premiums. In a nutshell, the pay to win aspect along with unlocking everything will drive people to nostalgia. This will happen regardless in any game community and it is unfortunately un avoidable. Updates and DLCs can only delay it so long, so enjoy every fun moment and maybe don’t buy premiums.

This video is right on the money. This channel is amazing and this guy will grow a lot. Player from first week game started in 2014 …back then everyone complained ..and every year after that. That never changed. But I must say the update where collectors were made was the worst in history. Low tiers tanks had its own characteristics and the game made them all the same. So what if a tank was overpowered…the excitement of being able to take down the beast was worth the risk.

thank you for this video, the nostalgia isnt always justified, thats right, but the game was objectively better yea, the game had its flaws back in the day, but one could never imagine how ass the game would be nowadays (gambling, low tiers ABSOLUTELY demolished, useless prem tanks along with kinda op prem tanks (not like in wot but still, also how is IS-6 an op tank wtf, it was made to farm credits)), old flaws were mostly technical while the newer ones are all about tanks balance, gambling etc. several times i said to myself that it cant go worse, but every time it did gone wrong. its not about good old days, its about the game they took from us for the sake of bigger income

we need to agree what update we shoukd go back to. like are we going back to 5.5 update before all the derp gun removals or we going back when it was 140 platoon spam heat into your german heavys at any angle through your tracks update. or we going older where the old maps had the tank destroyer corner sniping spots/climbing spots. or we going to +2 match making. every update had the good and bad bits in its patch. some tanks where straight up better then others and some maps had huge exploits. for me it would be when tiers 1-5 had there derp guns and when mediums where the meta.

The problem is that we expect new things and nothing changes, no surprises, no new things. Blitz has room to grow and they're wasting it.Why are there no clan updates, ranking battles and many other things? Just beating the same thing, just new tanks and maps from time to time Even the events are repetitive, there will probably be a snow globe on Christmas one year in a row...

I play on asia server (APAC) and I'm not one of the people who get to experience the golden era. I started in 2020 because of my friend. in the early days of playing, i dont remember having many fun experience. I was too perplexed by the game mechanics and 90% of my game were dying in the early match (Those type of teammates you all hate). Other than that, I find the game were quite grindy for so little reward. But i kept on playing.. until today. infact, i think this year and the year before is where i have the most fun. Mainly because i've escaped from tier 1-6 boredom and actually have gotten better at the game. sure the game have bad update such as the matchmaking recently, but that barely affects me tbh. I mostly play this game because of it's fun mode (big boss, mad game, etc) and as you all know, those modes have quite random MM. why i like these modes? Its because of the sheer randomness you can encounter in the match and can be funny. It also makes all tanks pretty equal, none is too OP. I also likes that they keep pumping new update even though it can be hot garbage because it can be a whole new experience all the time. but thats just my perspective. Another banger vid bro!

As a 2014 player i can say that the majority of times simple things are better i mean we dont need 300 vehicles and 100 premiums yes before there were broken pay to win tanks but nowdays if you go into competitive 12 of 14 vehicles are premium that doesnt even make sense for a free to play game in 2014 you eventually confronted an IS6 or a T34 but very rarely. Tier 7 nowdays is imposible to enjoy bc of the smasher and annilathor or those type of tanks before those werent in the game it only was the dracula and the helsing HO but you didnt foud one every game idk it just sucks to see the game of my life get destroyed like that

You didn't mention their balance changes. Before 9.1, Tanks were almost perfectly balanced. Now they're making tanks as dangerous as on pc, the toxic 4 shell autoloaders, Spall liner and shell reload boost still existing, Greatly increasing DPM on almost every tank made the game way less enjoyable to play. Many steamrolls happen (2 minute matches) because of how much dpm tanks have nowadays. And the fact that an average fv4005 can clip you for 1600 in 4 seconds with their shell reload boost makes the game so cringe. The new tech trees are always mediocre as hell (60tp, vz 55, cs 63, etc...)

I joined blitz in 2019 and quit3d many times because off how p2w and frustrating the game was but after i joined again i realised the problem was me. Im a better and smarter person now and i realise that you are what game is. If you pay hundreds of dollars in this game, you could have avoided it by viewing blitz from another angle. Same it is super insane, I actually stopped playing for a large period in the middle, but I ended up coming back remembering the old days. The game is very different now I kind of miss the old version but it will never come back so, just look into the future!
