Be careful with overexposure! Try not to get gel, poly gel, or anything containing HEMA (also in monomer) on your skin. It will cause you to have an allergy, it starts off with red skin around the cuticles, tingling, and itching. If you do it so often it can lead to a permanent allergy. I just found this out a couple weeks ago and now I’m sure I’m permanently allergic to gel products. I’m searching for HEMA free gel polishes but they can be expensive. Just thought I would comment this for anyone who is/isn’t a nail tech and don’t know the dangers of overexposure. ❤️

Girl you said it. It happened to me using Apres products. I've fully switched to Enailcouture and I put a paper form under my free edge to ensure nothing touches my skin. It was sooooooooo upsetting when I found out I had developed the allergy because I have spent a ton on Apres gel, but I don't have any issues with Enailcouture stuff.

@@kristenwinegar9327 I’ve been using Kiara Sky’s Gelly Tips and so far I haven’t had any reaction. So that is a plus! Now I make sure to use a different nail brush with acetone and clean up any residue.

I realized my cuticles were kinda flooded so I pulled my skin until it separated and the itching stopped. Thought it was a fluke. So my next set I started getting the itch all over my hand and bumps. I was thinking it was the base or top coat? I’ve been thinking of asking one of the big nail channels what I can do? I’ve spent so much money collecting stuff just for my use. Do you think using cuticle guards or the latex paint stuff around my cuticles? Or have you found any products that don’t cause this?

@@validwithoutphoto1389 it’s the ingredients in the gel. It’s also in monomer. I would highly recommend you take a well of no nails. Let them heal, try looking for HEMA-free gel products ! There is technically no way to avoid getting the allergy because what HEMA does is, it sticks to our natural nail and goes into our body. Also don’t peel your skin, it’ll just hurt really bad V the next few days. I hope this helped!!

Its easier to just form the design in the nail and place it on the nail instead of putting it on your nail and then filling it in with the polygel. I love how these nail tips look i just ordered some cant wait to try them

How do you take your nails off when you do them so often? Just soak in acetone?

Sometimes i paint a layer of clear gel nail polish above my base coat for easy removal for when I create sets back to back. Other times I soak them in acetone. I’ll be putting out a removal tutorial soon. 🥰🥰🥰

@@munchieroberts4365 I think it’s because it takes away the texture from the nail that helps everything adhere better. She is a KZbinr having to place and remove nails probably more than once a week for content and that makes it easier for her to remove them so soon after having them done. If you do a super long set or fancy set to match a certain dress for like a weekend event and then want to be able to take them off within a couple days the clear polish definitely makes that easier. Only do it if you plan to remove the set within a few days of applying though because it can cut down on durability/wear time 😊

I’m new to doing nails as well and I think you did amazing. However, just be careful with putting the polygel close to you skin because I learned from my cosmetology teacher that you can get contact dermatitis. Other than that I’m in love with your nails😍😍😍.

they can last you up to a month 🥰😉!!! Poly gel is kinda hard to remove. You have to soak it off. Just make sure to prep your nails really well 🥰🥰.

@@jaylenelittle-redfox12183 i make mine pretty thick sometimes. I file them and then soak. I prefer to soak so I don’t ruin my nail bed as much. I’ll be putting out a tutorial soon.
