This really reminds me of the Chinese Miao-Dao from Ming dyanasty, when there were lots of conflicts with Japanese pirates. There is also a starting pose named 藏刀式, or "dao hiding form" to begin with. Very fascinating thing rooted in both cultures. Thank you for reminding me.

Muso Shinden Ryu was part of the curriculum at the school I attended. We were taught that the Kata called Gyaku To was changed after the war. Does Seki Sensei know the original way to do it?
