MAD respect to Russian on articulating all the various aspects of what you do. Seeing and listening to this bredda in this setting vs an Instagram post, gives clarity to WHY he has achieved all that he has. The man knows his stuff and is disciplined and intelligent enough to navigate the industry, to keep on winning! A lot of what he said will go over the heads of many, but he, as many others have said before him, has explained why Jamaica's dancehall, isn't reaching the heights it needs to.... because of our mindset as a country and as a culture. All a we cyaah win TOGETHER, it has to be "A top artist".... while every other genre has several top artists, which is what creates that musical and worldwide SHIFT, that afrobeats is experiencing currently.... and everybody happy with winning as a country.

1:00:25 i can say from first hand experience, that Sean Paul success in the US was not due to Jamaicans. First, Jamaicans did not and even still dont rate Sean Paul. His songs were the least played on the riddim. After songs went on 106 & Park & MTV and the hip hop community in New York and other locals voted for the song to run up the charts, THAT IS WHEN JAMAICANS JUMP ON SEAN PAUL WAGON. I know because I was part of the online campaign to get the votes, and the ground work that was done in New York. Yes, a good amount of Jamaicans IN JAMAICA voted too, but the vast majority were HISPANIC + african americans.
