One of the things I love to watch, is how easily you get a 55,000 lb machine to gently toss sticks & roots to the side. Then followed by plucking a tree out of the ground. You are such a joy to watch, Chris. Thanks for bringing us all along.

This reminds me of the project you just recently finished with all the long road around the property, and all the mud you ended up getting a dozer stuck in the upper end of the pond, yep, that one. I have several reasons for watching your channel, the one big reason is as you are working the sight you are planning out everything you want to do with a contingency plan if things don’t quite go as planned, watch how smooth you operate your equipment, which by the way, in my opinion, is why your equipment runs and lasts as long as it does, enjoyable to listen and watch, thanks for the update sir

Every few years the power company clears the power lines of trees and brush. The condition I give them to come onto my property is that all of the debris has to be removed. They bring a big crew with all sorts of toys and get it done without leaving me a mess.
@Blazer02LS Жыл бұрын
Here it depends on who does the clearing work for the power lines. Some will cut it in log lengths and ship it to a mill, others just drop it and leave it. There have been a couple that cut logs and then offer it to anyone who wants firewood. You just need to go get it. Like you have discovered though, many times even free wood doesn't go anywhere...

Chris, you could cut wood all day with a dull chain i would never say a thing. Your always going to have arm chair experts!!!!
@dansbrown1313 Жыл бұрын
Hello Les, armchair experts don't spend/waste their time commenting on the dangers of running a dull chain or wearing a baseball cap while sawing down trees instead of a hard hat, for fun. The reason is, we care about Chris and don't want to see him injured. Logging is inherently dangerous and not something to take lightly. Nuff said.
@frenchcreekvalley Жыл бұрын
Regarding what the power company does with the trees that they cut on an easement- At least they do drop them onto the closest "landowners" property. They cleared about 3/4 of a mile along an edge of our place a few years ago and I salvaged about 1500 board feet of decent hardwood lumber from that event.
