Hey girl!! I'm just binge watching all your camp related videos, I have a series about working at a Summer Camp on my channel too :)

This is a really useful video as I'm currently in the process of applying for camp next summer! Day camp sounds like a nice balance too..! When you went travelling afterwards, had you pre-booked the coach trip? Or did you leave it open until you had met friends at camp? Did you go with anyone else? :)

Are you tempted to go back next year? And what was the top thing you learnt about yourself from doing camp america? )

You should check out camp hillcroft, it’s in upstate New York. I went there for 8 years and the counselors are from all over the world!

great video 'find your people!' for those that want to do this but maybe not work with just kids camps but want to work in a national park check out coolworks.com it's a great resource to find a job and you don't have to pay. sorry if this is annoying i don't work coolworks just love working in national parks and it alway amazes me the amount of people i know that never have visited their park! find your park and find your people!

I have applied for 2018 and I am scared as I haven't been America before and wondering what place are best to travel to afterwards

You said you had never worked with kids before, but I thought it was a requirement that you had some kind of experience with that and that you need references and stuff?

I had experience with babysitting and I'd worked with kids briefly (for like 3 days) in Ecuador but it was just giving them toys and stuff because they were disadvantaged, so not really 'real' experience! But most camps are very open minded, you get trained once you get there! I definitely had the least experience out of everybody though.

What Camp did you go to? And how did you go about your application with anxiety as I don’t know how to mention it and don’t want it to hinder my application
@Cutiebum6 жыл бұрын
I went to Incarnation Camp! I'd say you're best being completely honest, and the right camp will find you. You really need to put your health first because it's a HUGE committment if you struggle on the daily, it's an extremely full on job so you need to ensure you're at a place that best fits you in a role the suits you too! I was terrified I'd be denied my application because of it (it does happen with some companies), but I was honest with my interviewer and my camp was extremely understanding. So long as you feel your mental state is well enough to cope with a camp environment then you should be fine :) Good luck!
